Summary

The article expresses deep concern over the international community's inaction in response to Russia's aggressive military actions under Putin's leadership, paralleling Putin's behavior to that of Hitler, and calls for stronger intervention by the United States and the West, criticizing the ineffectiveness of the United Nations and NATO's hesitance.

Abstract

The author of the article, reflecting on President Biden's recent comment regarding Putin's leadership, criticizes the lack of global action against Russia's repeated military aggressions over the past two decades. The piece draws parallels between Putin's tactics in Ukraine, Syria, and other regions with historical atrocities, highlighting the pattern of war crimes and civilian targeting. It underscores the failure of the United Nations and the West to effectively respond to these actions, despite overwhelming evidence of human rights violations. The author advocates for a more assertive stance from NATO and the United States, suggesting that the current approach of minimal intervention is akin to watching history repeat itself with catastrophic consequences. The article concludes by questioning the values and resolve of the international community, particularly the United States and Europe, in the face

Today

The comment from President Biden yesterday in Poland after the NATO summit, speaking of Putin the Russian warlord, as posted in a NY Times article today, goes something like this: “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power,” Biden said Saturday, his cadence slowing for emphasis”.

Evidently, this has upset a large number of Republicans in Congress. But then anything that isn’t their idea is upsetting to many Republicans. Things that don’t exist (CRT, voter fraud) agitate most Republicans. And then there are some in Congress so intellectually incapable of comprehending what the comment from Biden meant, they have yet to comment.

Being an old(er) hippie and old biker, I’m a peaceful guy. But the negative response to Biden has me realizing I live in a world inhabited by too many (excuse the language) pussies. Putin needs to be slapped, beat, and capped… then placed in Folsum Prison or Rikers Island.

I have a problem (yeah, I have lots of problems) with anyone in Congress, or on the street, who doesn’t agree with Biden’s comment. If you disagree with Biden’s comment, you should not be in elected office. In fact, you probably are living in the wrong country.

The Past & The Present

Russia has a playbook. If you want to learn about it, then study who he sides with and what he does as the head of Russia. Read about the atrocities committed by Russia in just the past 15 years, 2007–8, 2014–15, 2015 to now, and now Ukraine.

Russia’s playbook is the same everywhere. Use artillery and airstrikes to target population areas, target civilians, hospitals, schools… target cities, target everything that isn’t military to terrify and break down the populace. Destroy their way of life.

Let’s look at Syria. President Assad of Syria is a sociopath, an autocrat who has gassed and used chemical weapons on his own people. He hired Russia to help him. Putin happily obliged. “War crimes” the West cried! “Chemical weapons! Mustard gas!” Nobody did a damn thing then and nobody does a damn thing now.

Russia has been involved in Syria openly since 2015… “their actions in support of the Syrian army was to exact a high civilian death toll in order to break the morale of the people. And eventually they succeeded in basically dismembering the Syrian opposition as a result…” according to Randa Slim, a senior fellow, and director of the conflict resolution program at the Middle East Institute.

Russian attacks in Ukrain follow this same playbook, to exact a high civilian death toll. Kill, torture, and enslave the population. The UN does nothing. The West does nothing.

As in Syria since 2015, Putin’s Russia has been declared as having committed war crimes. Indeed, the UN is still “investigating” the war crimes from 2014. Then what? Nothing will ever happen because the head of a nation has never been charged and/or prosecuted and never will be.

  • How many times has a country been charged and found guilty of war crimes? Never
  • How many times have leaders of a country been charged and found guilty of war crimes? None
  • Has anyone ever been charged and found guilty of war crimes? Yes.

Two soldiers were charged and found guilty of war crimes. Haradin Bala (1957–2018), Kosovo Albanian soldier, and Robert Bales (born 1973), United States Army soldier, sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Russia under Putin has been bombing parts of Syria daily since 2015. The countryside is rubble. Russia has been involved longer but that’s another story. But then, Putin has been bombing smaller countries since 1999. From Chechnya to Syria, via Ukraine, the Russia of Vladimir Putin has been involved in a string of wars since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

  • What has the United Nations done to stop these repeated assaults by Russia? Nothing.
  • What has the West and/or the US done to provide a level playing field to stop the slaughter? Nothing.

So 20 years later, what then are the results?

Chechnya — Russia ended its war in 1996… until Putin came into power in 1999 and attacked. “Terrorists,” he said. In reality, Putin blew up apartment buildings murdering his own people, and claimed terrorists did it. In 2000 they captured Grozny, the capital, and leveled the entire city before pulling out. He pulled out 10 years later, 2009. The UN does nothing. The West does nothing.

Georgia — In 2008 Putin attacked Georgia, taking the southern portion of the small country to use as a military base. They remain there today. The UN does nothing. The West does nothing.

Ukraine — Putin’s appointed replacement in Russia (term limits… yes even Russia has term limits) attacks the Crimea Peninsula in 2014, murdering thousands, annexing it claiming it belongs to Russia. Alleged uprisings (more terrorists) in Eastern Ukraine see Russia sending “volunteer Russian soldiers” to support the real terrorists, then declaring them sovereign countries. Russia remains there today using them as a military base to now attack the rest of the country. The UN does nothing. The West does nothing.

Syria, Afghanistan, and now again Ukraine. Why is it nobody in NATO, nobody in the UN, nobody in the United States, recognizes a pattern here that is 20 years long. Hundreds of thousands dead. Millions of displaced refugees with nowhere to live. And still the United Nations does nothing, the United States does nothing, and the West has done nothing.

I listened to an interview with a retired US Military Officer today. His comment was that “we”… the United States and the Western nations as a whole… allowed Putin to do what he wants when he wants, and where he wants at any time he wants. He didn’t even mention the UN because there’s no need.

His opinion today was that Ukraine will become a protracted war of at least a decade, destroying every city in the country while Russia annexes what they want. He stated the West has allowed Putin to call all the shots by threatening the use of nukes… repeatedly. It’s time to stop playing his game.

In 4 weeks there are over 3 million refugees displaced in Ukraine. Cities have been leveled. An estimated 60,000 Ukrainians have been taken into custody and placed in camps. From there they are to be dispersed to areas for forced unpaid labor. Several thousand children are estimated to have been kidnapped and taken to Russia. Today alone, over 2000 children were taken into Russia. Hundreds of children have been murdered. Gone.

Future Prediction

The United States and the West must intervene now. Otherwise, this is a game that will continue to be played out repeatedly. Just as it has been for over 20 years.

  • How many more countries will we watch this sociopath destroy?
  • How many millions of additional refugees will we watch him create.
  • How many innocent people will we watch him bomb and murder?
  • How many thousands of people will we allow him to kidnap and use as slave labor in concentration camps?
  • How many more children will we allow him to steal, murder, and traffic?

Preceding the United Nations was The League of Nations. They were disbanded because they didn’t stop WWII. The United Nations hasn’t stopped a damn war in decades. They collect and distribute food. Period. Time to disband the UN.

“The U.N.’s failure has been multifaceted and cannot be ascribed to one single cause. It is partly a failure of leadership, combined with poor management, discipline, and widespread inefficiency, as well as a deep-seated culture of corruption. At fault is the reluctance, if not refusal, to become involved in large conflicts.”

Oddly, I thought that is why the UN exists. The real fact is unless there is something “in it” for Russia, China, or the US, the Security Council of the UN will ignore all war.

Somebody must explain to me what exactly is it about Biden’s comment that has Republicans, or anyone, angry? While you’re at it I’d also like an explanation as to why we have not given fighter jets to Ukraine, or better yet, why NATO doesn’t step in as a peace-keeping unit and stop the insanity? Forget the UN.

Ignoring Russia’s past history these last 20+ years, pretending this is different, publicly wringing their hands afraid of what Putin might do next... is insanity. Is the world we live in this much of a cesspool?

Question: How long does the world plan to watch Hitler reincarnate? The United States and Europe at one time had testicles, but wouldn’t exist today if this was the plan leading up to what became WWII.
