Exposing Fake Writers and Their Manipulative Practices
Medium is a platform enabling authors from many backgrounds to communicate their ideas, tales, and opinions to a worldwide readership. The platform has elevated authentic voices and high-caliber content, but it has also seen a negative side: an increase in phony writers and false engagements, which is unfair to all genuine writers and those who write as a hobby.
The Spread of Plagiarism in Writing
Medium’s openness and accessibility make it susceptible to individuals looking to game the system. Some dishonest writers openly steal and rewrite other authors’ works, frequently eluding Medium’s plagiarism checkers. They take credit for the work that has been stolen, making money off of the laborious efforts of others. Platforms like Chatgpt have made it so easy for them to copy and paste. I mean, where is the creativity?
Fake Engagements and Manipulation
Honestly, this pisses me off the most; like I’ve had scenarios where most of the comments are all the same, just rephrased. These people frequently use strategies to rig Medium’s engagement algorithms and artificially inflate their metrics in addition to producing phony content. Most people on Facebook don’t even reciprocate and, in return, would have the nerve to lie. I really hope they get banned or something because they are taking the piss really.
A depressing problem that jeopardizes Medium’s authenticity and integrity is the presence of phony writers and engagements. It is imperative that readers and writers continue to be watchful and provide support to legitimate creators, even while Medium strives tirelessly to stop these immoral activities. The Medium community may cooperate in upholding the platform’s standing as a place for insightful, authentic, and unique content by flagging questionable accounts and declining to interact with bogus content. The sad thing is that those who write and engage genuinely can’t even do anything. If a fake writer gets banned, they will just come up with a new account. Medium needs to take some action; otherwise, it will lose its credibility or, even worse, BE TAKEN DOWN.

- IF YOU DON’T CLAP, COMMENT AND HIGHLIGHT, AND PRETEND THAT YOU HAVE
- IF YOU DON’T ENGAGE AND PRETEND THAT YOU HAVE
- IF YOU LIE AND TRY TO CHEAT THE SYSTEM
THEN…..FUCK YOU TOO!
Just stop it if you’re one of these fake artists. Is there anything more constructive you could do than spend hours pretending to write? It’s not really worth it to keep going if you don’t enjoy it. Choose a hobby or pastime you enjoy and become an expert at it.
Give up looking for praise for accomplishments you never made. I sincerely hope there is a writing community where members support and nurture one another. However, I’ve been unable to prevent this rot from spreading to these organizations. Therefore, I would much rather have a small circle of individuals whose judgment I can rely on.
