PHOTO A DAY CHALLENGE

Food, Leaf, and a Myriad of Colors in the Sky

2nd to 8th June 2021

The past week has been hectic — filled with office work, COVID vaccination appointments, writing, and tons of rain in Bengaluru (India). The week saw me zooming through the tasks, with everything becoming blurred around me. Seriously, I don’t even remember what I had for breakfast yesterday:)

But at times, when the world slowed down, I got time to click some beautiful pictures. Photos that I’m immensely proud of.

Look at the shade of blue…Woow!

Photo from my balcony

As always, the sky still enchants me. The shape of clouds, the change of colors, the effect of the sun’s rays, winds, and rain on our eyes, are mindblowing.

I noticed the sky when my husband and I were having our usual coffee on our balcony and immediately rushed to take it. It’s even more special because I would have missed the shot if I had gotten delayed by even a minute. With the rapid setting of the sun, the colors in the sky were changing every second.

The raindrop

After rains — photo was taken by the author.

I took the above photo just after the rains. I love this shot because of its imperfection — imperfection that only I’m aware of.

I meant to take a photo with the drop falling but missed it by seconds. Taking a similar shot would require me to pour water on the leaf artificially, so I didn't want to do that. Still, I got to the point of capturing the drop separately, which made me feel proud of myself.

Rain, rain, go away!

Both of the above shots were taken just before it started raining. They were clicked on 2 different days, of course.

My favorite one was the first photo. It seemed like all the clouds are rushing together to engulf our apartment, to pour torrents of rain on us. Surprisingly, we did not experience heavy rains that day. I love the second one because of the pattern on the side. Gorgeous, isn't it?

Baked Mac and Cheese!!

Mac and Cheese baked by my husband

My husband has wanted to experiment with baked pasta for god knows how long. We are a pasta-obsessed couple, and you can always find us experimenting with new flavors. Our favorite flavors are coriander-chili, spinach, and tandoori. But we always avoided the baking part because of our laziness, only because of our laziness.

This weekend, he finally fulfilled his dream of baking a pasta dish and served the family-famous Tandoori Baked Mac and Cheese for the whole family! Of course, I gobbled up the delicacy like there is no tomorrow:)

Thank you so much, Dennett, for encouraging everyone to participate in the A-Photo-A-Day challenge. Primarily, this has made me more aware of my surroundings and the goodness and beauty in my life — filling me with gratitude and motivation for more days to come.

Thank you!
