Follow Your Intuition
Your intuition never lies.
Follow your intuition. I know, my intuition never lies.
I have learned over the years that when I ignore the silent voices of my intuition, I pay the price for it. Sometimes, it just takes longer for the lesson to sink in.
About a month ago, as I was leaving to pick up my son, I noticed I was low on gas. My intuition told me to get gas at the station next door. I was running late, so I felt that I could get my son first, and then get the gas at the station next to his place. I had more than enough to get there. He was only four miles away.
When I didn’t make it, even though I thought I could, I was pissed at myself for not listening. Nevertheless, I had a gas can in the van, so I walked about a mile to get the gas.
“God doesn’t burden a soul more than it can bear.”
My critical voice wanted to curse me because this wasn’t the first time that I had not listened, but I have learned to be gentle to me lately. I refused to listen to that voice; instead, I slipped into gratitude. I thanked my intuition for guiding me and apologized for not listening. Somehow I knew I would be alright.
A gentleman saw me walking with the gas can and gave me a ride to the nearest gas station and back. He told me that he was guided by his inner voice and felt compelled to help me. I am grateful he followed his intuition. Even with the two gallons of gas that I had just added, the van wouldn’t start. The gentleman was kind enough to push the vehicle off the freeway to a safe place.
You can call it synchronicity, or you can call it a miracle. Does it matter what you call it?
After getting some assistance with troubleshooting over the phone from my mechanic, he said: “Rasheed, you’ve probably driven one time too many with low gas. You may have fried your fuel pump.”
I am grateful that my insurance covered the towing expenses.
When I spoke with the mechanic the next day, it wasn’t the fuel pump. It was something called the EGR valve. Here is the funny thing ( or maybe just poignant) that when the van was towed away, I somehow knew it wasn’t the fuel pump. Although, I was hoping it would only be the fuel filter, which is much less expensive to replace.
Trust your intuition; it never lies.
