Focus and Determination Are Key Elements of Your Future Success
Are you failing to use your time productively because you lack focus on your goals in life?
I’ve been working and writing online in a serious way for over fourteen years, and during that time I’ve learned a lot of life lessons about focus and determination.
I’ve done everything from freelance writing (every kind imaginable), to affiliate marketing, and everything in between.
These valuable tips will work effectively for writers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and anyone else who wants to be more focused and determined and earn more money in the process.
So be prepared to really think about what you’re reading, and be determined to let the material sink in and motivate you to change.

Using Time Productively
Every day, the rules, regulations and terms of service on numerous writing related websites and blogs seem to change.
Are you failing to use your time productively because you lack focus on your goals in life?
If you were drawn in by the key words in the title of this story, chances are you feel like you are failing at maintaining focus and determination.
Maybe the word failing is a bit strong for what you’re feeling. You might just be feeling frustration and wondering if maybe you’re on the wrong path for your future.
This can be terribly frustrating, as many writers on this site and other writing websites would agree.
Even though you know and hear about other writers getting paid consistently, for some reason, you’re always the one who fails to make any real money.
Does this sound familiar to you? Well join the club, because that’s exactly how I feel sometimes, but I don’t allow myself to feel that way for long.
In a few minutes I’ll tell you exactly how I shake that feeling off, and stay determined to be productive in my writing.
The mindset that I learned how to PUT myself in, is the same mindset that helped me to publish over 110 stories on the Medium website (to date). I only joined and became a new member less than 2 months ago, so I’d say the strategy is still working.
This mindset (that anyone can develop) has saved me time and time again, when I was ready to give up entirely, and helped me get back on track, and keep pressing forward. I haven’t reached my ultimate goal yet, but I know success is imminent, because I refuse to give up.
I strongly believe that every failure that I endured and overcame, has brought me that much closer to success.
In 2021 and beyond, it’s no longer about the level of experience a writer has, or how long you’ve been doing affiliate marketing.
In these modern times, especially since COVID changed the landscape of things; it’s all about what you’re capable of doing now, not necessarily how long you’ve been doing it.
- Legitimate places currently exist online, where new writers and bloggers can make money by sharing their views.
- Affiliate marketers can promote numerous products and capitalize on diversity.
- Entrepreneurs can collaborate and build an empire out of nothing.
So just why are some people so successful online with writing for cash, or making money with their internet skills?
What makes them succeed while the majority of people simply become discouraged and give up?
Determination Versus Distraction
The problem with constantly being disappointed is that it leads to discouragement. Then, discouragement leads to distraction, and suddenly, your determination goes out the window.
Obviously this is the wrong attitude to have because it’ s counterproductive to any and everything you do. You certainly can’t be writing or very productive with this kind of negative thinking. How could you when you’re clearly lacking focus.
In order for you to stop failing at consistently earning a decent writing income, you will have to stop failing at consistently producing content.
Your ability to do this starts with developing and maintaining the right attitude. When you do, you will discover exactly how much and how many ways you can get paid for your writing, and all your other ventures.
Is this going to be easy to do? Not always, because truthfully, some days are worse than others. The reality of just how much determination it takes to stay focused can sometimes feel like you’re spinning your wheels.
Don’t give in to poisonous thinking. You can tell yourself positive things, just like you tell yourself negative things. Start looking at failure as just a part of the process that is mandatory to success.
When things finally do turn themselves around, you’ll be glad that you hung in there. Failures help you appreciate your triumphs, as you continue striving to succeed.
The need to stay focused
Just because there are a lot of different ways to make money online, doesn’t mean it’s a good ideal to get involved with every single one of them.
Sometimes the best decision may be to just pick one activity and stick to it, at least until you’ve mastered it (or know what the heck you’re really doing).
For instance, if your plan is to write a book and become a published author, you need to make the time to write and not spend all your time on a myriad of miscellaneous online activities.
Start focusing exclusively on what your primary writing or other internet objectives may be.
Final Thoughts

Don’t just think about what your primary writing objective or online goal is. Have it written down and keep it visible and in the forefront of your mind.
