Flying Inspires Me

I always write when I’m on a plane

I always write when I am flying. Always. And I fly a lot. I write a lot too. When I am flying. I get inspired by the clouds, the views, the landscapes, the place I am coming from, and the destination I am going to.

Back in the plane

I’m back on a plane. After three months of lockdown. Or two months of lockdown and three months since my last flight. I love flying. There’s always something exciting about it. Going to a new destination. Or an old one you haven’t been to for a while. To go to a place to meet new people. Or meet up with old connections. Friends and family members.

Flying also means you go to a different climate. For me at least. I don’t take flights under six hours. Unless it’s for me to jump out of them. Then the flight usually only takes 15 minutes.

Questions

But this is different. I’m thinking about the weather. How is the weather gonna be when I arrive at my destination? Colder or warmer? Is it gonna rain? Since I’ve spent years in the desert I learned to appreciate the rain. Rain is fascinating. Life awakening. And refreshing.

What clothes will I need to wear? Do I have the right shoes? What language do I need to speak? How will people look like? How the scenery? The houses? Will I see any animals? Will I feel like a foreigner?

There are so many questions going through my brain. Questions that show curiosity. Excitement. And a huge amount of diversity thinking. Because that’s what I learned while traveling. How diverse our world is. How diverse cultures and countries are. How diverse and fascinating people are.

I get inspired when flying

All of these interesting thoughts I got from traveling. I got inspired. So much. The world is so much bigger than you think. So much. And so much more interesting. If you can fly. To places. Not that flying is the only way to explore. But it’s what I am doing right now. Flying from one destination to another. To start a life somewhere new. To live somewhere I haven’t lived for over six years.

And I am excited to start exploring a different part of the country where I haven’t been to before. To go hiking. Climbing on the rocks. To get the inline skates out and ride across the fields. To look into people’s faces. And listen to their conversations.

Because that’s what it’s about. Traveling. Getting to know new places. Getting to know other people. And cultures. Widening your conception of the world. Understand someone else‘s philosophy. His or her image of the world.

To see the positive things in life

To see the positivity in all of it. Because we do have a lot in common. And because there is actually a lot to be positive about. And because positive willpower together with a bit of optimism can do a lot in the world. It can change more than just change someone’s image of the world. It can make him change the appearance of the world. In some way.

And that is what it is about. To make people smile. To make the world we live in a better place.
