Fly Eagles Fly | On The Road To Home Field Advantage

EAGLES 22–16 GIANTS

“Never mind who you thought we were. We’re first place bitch.” — Rick James in heaven [probably]

Was it pretty? Not at all. Was it convincing? Anything but. Was it a win? Abso-fucking-lutely it was. And a win was the only thing this team needed to lock up the number one seed in the NFC and hold home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Jalen Hurts made his return after missing the last two weeks with a shoulder injury. He didn’t necessarily look like he was back to his full MVP form yet, but he certainly didn’t disappoint. Going 20/35 for 229 yards passing is nothing to sneeze at. If nothing else, hopefully the last two weeks have shown the world that Jalen Hurts is the MVP. If Gardner Minshew was in at QB against the Giants, it surely would've been nightmare fuel for all of us Birds’ fans.

So where do we go from here? It feels damn good to clinch the top seed in the NFC & to know that as long as the Eagles are playing football, there’s going to be 70,000 Eagles fans in a sea of green cheering on this team in Philadelphia.

But the road to the Super Bowl is a long and agonizing one. But not anything unfamiliar to this Eagles team. We’ve been here before just five years ago. The number one seed under our belt and the rest of the world over looking a hungry team in Philly. With the Giants and the Cowboys being the 6th and 5th seed respectively, there’s a good chance that the Birds may see one of these two teams in the second round.

26–6? Really Dallas? Hahahahaha

Am I worried? Of course. It’s hard to not worry when the last three weeks of the season were as miserable as it gets in Philadelphia. But more than anything, I’m on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I can’t wait to see how the first round goes this weekend. But until then, I’m gonna celebrate being the best damn team in the NFL.
