Fleeting Glimpses
A Poem
Fleeting glimpses of radiant eternity reaching these mud-caked eyes- Light from some Greater Reality seeping through cracks in the walls of day-to-day existence.
In these transitory moments of insight, all explanation, clever metaphor, theory, logic, argument and heated passion become so much straw in the wind — sacred writings, music and art handfuls of gravel thrown at the stars.
The temptation exists to escape into the glow of these higher spheres- to shun the murky darkness of this messy and pain-filled world.
Yet there is work to be done lessons to be learned and a certain juiciness to this wild ride:
The joy and pathos of Unfoldment- this game of lost and found; God’s pageantry of hide and seek.
And although Adam and Eve have a bad rap in certain circles, we all know that there is something indescribably wonderful about the sweet crunchy bite of the ripe apple.
