Abstract

ish nature had anything to do with her name, A-man-da. I remember grazed knees and frozen peas! And playing handball on the cracks in the driveway.

Not my dad’s proudest moment, he had a near-death experience in a drunk driving car accident — rolled the car six times (don’t ask me who counted).

As a result, all of our supermarket trips were made on foot. The walking there was alright, it was the walking back that was tough! My dad would have three bags in each hand and my brother and I would carry our fair share of the load. Did I mention we lived up a hill? I could have sworn my arms would fall off!

I remember super-sized cockroaches in the shed, connected to the house by a few downward concrete steps. Come to think of it, they were probably normal-sized cockroaches, but my eyes were smaller back then.

My parents were separated but living together. My dad was a budding wedding and lifestyle photographer and my mum, a taste tester at the supermarket. My dad and sister slept on a pull-out couch in the lounge, my mum and brother in the bed below mine. Our house was tiny, but I didn’t care. We were together, and we were happy!

I guess it would have been a stressful time for my parents, but I was well sheltered from it. They made me feel like the most blessed, happy, and loved kid, and I will always appreciate them for it!

Check out this poem dedicated to my mum on Mother’s Day!

A Mother’s Day Breakfast

A 30-day challenge

medium.com

</

Five Goals to Set

Monthly challenge for November 2019 to improve your life

Setting goals is very easy. However, following the goals is tough that is when we decide to give up. All our resolution for the new year is like this. Before the second month, we give up 80% of the resolution.

In this article, I will explain five goals to set and how you can follow it for one month. If you are able to follow it for 21 days you already achieve the purpose. These goals are for your personal development.

Are you ready for this monthly goal challenge? ☺

Prerequisite: Have a goals tracker app(for android you can download here, for apple click here) or use the old way, a diary!

1.Self Talk

Here I have listed two self-talk goal practices to improve your self-confidence level and self-esteem.

Also, if you are afraid of public speaking/or speaking in a meeting you can overcome that using these practices.

Mirror Power:

Every morning you are spending some time in front of the mirror. You do this to enhance your beauty by some external things, for example applying a cream to your face. However, did you ever speak to yourself in front of the mirror? If not, it is time to do it from this month onwards. Look at your eyes, those eyebrows, nose, your lips, cheeks and if you have a long foot mirror see your entire self. Speak to your image. Remember, sub-conscious understands images faster than words. Your reflection in the mirror is your own self-image. Talk to your own image and speak out the positive words.

“I am the winner, I deserve a better life. I have all the abundance of this beautiful life. Today is my day, I love myself more than anyone, I am the best, I am the champion of my own life, I am a Money Magnet”

You can say this kind of affirmations for a few minutes by seeing your image. By doing this you have made your subconscious to believe that you are the best. So it will make a bridge between you and Universe/God and transfer your words and get the outcome as per your wish.

Shower Power:

When you are under a warm water shower, your body gets energized and all your cells are stimulated by the running water all over your body. Your body and mind will be in receiving state during this time. It is the best time to have a self-conversation with you. We have heard of many “bathroom singers” in our life. Why can’t you speak to yourself by utilizing this time and improve yourself? You can repeat all those positive affirmations and come out of the shower with much self-confidence. In this busy life, you can properly use your shower time to shape up your future.

2.Vision of success

It is one of the easiest goals. Do you envision your success? If not, try doing it from now. Hold on, before that how do you define your success? Here is an example of the definition of success. Once you define success, start envisioning your success on a daily basis. All the successful people on this planet have done this and achieved massive success. Spend some specific time every day and see your successful self. You will become a success.

3. Be grateful

If you are not practising gratitude yet, have it as a goal for November and practice it daily. Being grateful has many benefits. Be grateful for what you have in your life, if you do so, you will be able to receive an abundance of blessings into your life. You can read more about gratitude practices here.

4. Healthy Eating

Say no to processed food. Say no to soft drinks. Eat more nuts and seeds. If you do this for one month you will be able to see the difference in your body. You will start feeling healthier. Instead of junk food, you will start finding healthy food. Healthy eating prevents you from unwanted diseases. Replace the chips with fruits. Stop eating unhealthy evening snacks for a month. You will be a new human after 30 days!

5. Work-Life Balance

I used to be a workaholic person. I work late nights, I used to be at the office all the time. Later, I realised it is of NO use. We all have a personal life. We should give the same importance to personal life as we do for professional life. It should be balanced. If you are a workaholic, try to achieve this goal from this month.

All these five goals can be achieved if you track it by the end of the day. Never go twice a day without achieving all these five goals.

I wish you a blessed month ahead with loads of love, joy and happiness.
