These days, it is not enough to produce a movie and let it blow up into the horizon. It is also necessary to ensure the film is as good as time itself.
Hollywood has been dominated by great films in the past decade, but there are still few movies that have made waves beyond the industry.
No!… Not just in terms of their reviews and comments, but also in terms of their influence on the new generation, when they get their name mentioned in different movie chat rooms and several other Google searches.
Many of these movies are known for their syntax and intent synapses with several societal questions.
Some are relationship, family, or comedy movies, while others have a strict range of genres, like war and horror.
Here are the five black movies that answer significant societal questions:

For Colored Girls, as the title suggests, is a black film, but not just any black film, one that depicts the struggles of colored girls in life and relationships.
Surprisingly, it grossed almost the total amount of its production budget in one week.
Who do you think created this great masterpiece? You guessed it right, Tyler Perry.
The movie was written, directed, and produced by him, and it featured a lot of stars that would naturally make the movie go to the very top of the charts once it was released.
It relates to each major cast member as a color, with each girl depicting a particular color. Some are primary colors, while others are secondary colors.
Then the major role players are Kimberly Elise, Loretta Devine, Thandiwe Newton, Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson, and Tessa Thompson.
This shows that the movie is star-studded and has passed the regular mark for a successful movie in Hollywood.
But besides that, the movie has been used several times, especially by young women, to answer societal questions and portray an in-depth view of what the average woman faces, like; rape, reproach, heartbreak, confusion, anger, and violence.
2. JUST WRIGHT
How Awful Could Love Be?
Unlike most black movies, this one is not as cast-populated as others are, it solely carries three major role players, and the story revolves around them.
It is a simple love story that stresses how awful it could be to be in love with someone who is in another relationship. The three major role players are Common The rapper, Queen Latifah, and Paula Patton. Quite a few stars, right?
Queen Latifah was a physical therapist who had a love charade with her friend’s fiancee.
Just Wright was officially released in 2010 and has received some awards and acceptance from the fans of relationship-tagged movies.
3. THINK LIKE A MAN
How To Break A Guy’s Code?
Although critics believe otherwise, this is a major blockbuster with many A-list actors. Most of the searches for movies that reveal guys’ behavior are relayed back to this movie or its mother book, which was written by Steve Harvey.
The movie stakeholders calmly selected every actor for the specific role they played. Think Like a Man was released in the year 2012. And since then, it has been a film with which young women and older women have researched how to communicate their intent on studying men to an extreme.
Its answer to that societal inquisition allowed the movie to gross a total of $33 million, which made it one of the few movies with a major rise in profit after production.

Hidden Figure is an ecstatic biographical film released in the year 2016. With a whopping commercial success, it remains one of the most profitable movies of the 21st century.
As you’ve rightly guessed, it was released by one of the most elite production houses in Hollywood. 20th Century Fox.
Upon release, the movie made over $95.5 million in profit. Although this could be likened to the many successes that its production house and cast have experienced in previous films, the actual reason behind its acclaimed success is its celebration and representation of how women are treated before and after empowerment in some particular fields of life.
Some of the cast includes Octavia Spencer as Dorothy Vaughan, Taraji P. Henson as Katherine Johnson, and Janelle Monáe as Mary Jackson, who played the major roles of African American mathematicians that helped cement America’s success in space travel.
5. BEAST OF NO NATION
How do children get infused with a crime?
Beast of No Nation, like many other block-bluster, is an American war drama with a captivating cast. It features its main character as Idris Elba, who was involved in horrific war crimes in a particular part of Africa.
With the involvement and usage of a boy soldier in the condemnation of his enemies.
Although the movie was not accepted by a certain segment of society. because it was panned by the majority of film critics for being too abusive and blunt.
But with time and consistent views, the movie became one of the best war movies of the 2010s as it exposed the truth behind the war and what could cause a child to be involved in such a horrific infliction as shown in the movie. The film was presented in 2015 and was released in the same year on Netflix.
