First Person That Inspires Me To Be Successful Is Eminem

“I’m trying to give you the life that I never had,”

Mocking bird was the first Eminem’s song that I listened to. I was so touched by the lyrics which he dedicated to her daughter, Hailie. After that one song, I searched for his other songs and I’m amazed at how great he is as a rapper. He is lyrically genius. I’m obsessed with him in high school. It continued until I’m in college. I vividly remember that my lecturer asked me to come up with one topic to talk about in class. Guess what? I talked about Eminem. Eminem has a big impact on my life. He inspires me so much from his success stories. I will never get tired of telling people why I love him so much. Hence, this article.

There are three reasons:

1. His Biggest Why

Eminem had a tough childhood. When he was a child, he was abandoned by his father and was raised by his mother, who is an addict (from his lyrics). He’s married to Kim and had a child together, Hailie. The birth of Hailie inspires him to make a living as a rapper. Hailie is his biggest why. “I’m trying to give you the life that I never had” is the lyric that touched me the most. When you have a strong why you don’t quit or give up on your dreams. As a father, Eminem doesn’t want his daughter to experience the same childhood as him. He wanted a better life for Hailie, and he did everything he could to accomplish that. That’s why the biggest why is important when you set your goals. Know the reason you do what you do. If you don’t feel the emotions to your goals, you might lose motivation quickly. To achieve your goals, find your biggest why and feel the emotions of finally achieving it someday.

2. His Vulnerabilities

I’m that person who loves songs because of how beautiful the lyrics are. I’m not the type of person who likes the song by listening to music only. I have to know or understand the lyric before I liked the song or not. When I listened to Eminem’s songs, in which he told how his life as a depressed and suicidal person was, I feel the emotions behind the songs because of how vulnerable he was. See, being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means that you have feelings. We are humans; we are supposed to feel emotions. As for Eminem, he’s the most vulnerable when he sang about Hailie. He had this song called Hailie’s Song, and it is so beautiful. It feels honest. The lyrics from Hailie’s song, “Sometimes I think I’m crazy, oh so crazy! Why am I here? Am I just wasting my time? But then, I see my baby. Suddenly, I’m not crazy! It all makes sense when I look into her eyes”. What a loving father he is and the fact that he never afraid of showing his vulnerable side publicly makes me respect him more. Sometimes, being vulnerable can be your greatest strength.

3. He Believes In Himself In his early days, Eminem was to hip-hop what Black folks have been to America. “White people can’t rap” “He’s no good” “He can’t rap”. What if Eminem believe what they said? What if he believes he can’t rap and quit? What will happen if he doubts himself and questioning his abilities? He will not be the greatest rapper alive now, right? Look, others’ opinions don’t matter at all. Your opinion is. Do you believe in yourself? If you believe in yourself, why would you let others’ opinions affect you? They don’t know your abilities. They don’t know what you’re capable of. “When you know what you bring to the table, you don’t beg people to eat with you”. Eminem believes he can rap. That is why he keeps on rapping until people accept he is talented, that he is a great rapper. The first thing you should do is always believe in yourself. Remember that, no one knows yourself more than you.

“Believe you can and you are halfway there” ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Friends, never give up on your dreams. No matter how hard life is, keep going. You are stronger than what you think. Believe in yourself.

All of us want to be successful, but how many of us achieve that. We can have the same goals, some can achieve them, and some not. The difference will be how much effort you will put through to accomplish your goals. Let’s do our best to be successful, write our own success stories the way we want them to be, and let our stories inspire people to be better, like how Eminem’s success story inspires me.
