Finding Your Tags
There’s a list, choose some.
Thanks so much to Tom Kuegler for his enthusiasm, his free webinar and expert email tips.
I’m twice Tom’s age, but I know I am already learning some useful Medium blogging tips from him. He’s the guy that is focussing my, often over active, energy. If I hadn’t been presented with a story from Tom, I’ve no clue which particular one it was as I’ve read so many of them now, I wouldn’t be writing this now.
What have I learnt since that encouraging webinar?
- There’s a list of tags here. Thanks, Tom Kuegler, you saved me from having to dream up things I thought might be suitable. I am pretty digitally challenged, give me analogue any day. This is the first time I’ve used the # with someone’s name. I’m not really sure what it does. Does it do anything?
- I have just discovered how to add a link so that when you click here you go to the list of tags page. Here’s how: a) copy the link you want to embed, b) type the word ‘here’, c) highlight it, d) click the two joined chain links in the functions bar.
- Consistency is key. Tom advises five articles per week. Don’t worry though, because if that’s too much to start with you can drop down to two to three. I’ve got time this week, so I’m aiming for five. This is my fourth. I’m inspired!
It’s day four, have I chosen my tags yet? Sort of. No, not really.
It’s tricky when the way I write any one article might span mental-health, life-lessons, life, relationships, and finance, or this one, for example, has inspiration and self-improvement, education, writing, and life. I’ve chosen five tags for each article so far. Maybe I will have to hone the tags, or maybe these high number categories will really give my little bit of learning and sharing a chance. I’ll let you know how it goes.
