Finding Time To Write More Than Once A Day
When Life, Husbands, Children, and Sheep Get In The Way. Forget routine and scribble when you can.

The thing with writing is its all very well thinking about it but you’ve got to make time for it and do it. But for those of us with children big and small, husbands and sheep this is not so easy. I’ve read tons of articles on here and very good they have been too about getting into a routine with your writing. I've learnt a hell of a lot from the writers on here. I’ve got to get into a routine with MY writing but so far am only managing one or two articles a day. And two if it’s a good day with no interruptions. Believe you me I’ve given it my very best shot to get into a routine. And have failed. Miserably.
In other words that means the two-legged or cloven-hooved souls in my life have either got to be asleep, gone out, or snoring in a shed somewhere if the weather is too hot. Currently, as I am typing, this is the current situation and I’m damn well making the most of it.
Thank God for the writing app. I can jot down things whilst cooking, sitting in the car, sitting with the sheep, or being trodden on by the gentleman pictured above. I can then return to the laptop and get it all down properly and formatted correctly so at least that’s something.
But no matter how any of us on here are writing. We ARE writing and that’s what counts. My rule of thumb is to write my journal every day and write an article a day and I have managed to stick with that and am going to carry on the same. As I said in response to an article the other day “habit begets habit”. It certainly has in my case.
I applaud mothers like Shannon Ashley who has a young child and is writing full time for a living. It cannot be easy doing this with a young child to look after. But on she goes and she is a top writer on here.

So currently I shall ramble along with writing as I go. Writing daily is now part of my life and the pressure is now off. You don’t need set times to write, write when you can and however you can. That’s a big thing to take any stress off something you should be enjoying.
And enjoying your writing will help it shine.
Happy scribbling.
