PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Finding Peace In Our World
First Week of October
Day 1
The sunrise cover photo shows one of my favorite parts of my morning commute. Traffic comes to a stop along this part of the trip. With a few deep breaths and a look to the left, I feel at peace. I have actually had to quit looking over my shoulder so much because I was getting a stiff neck.
Luckily, I have a couple of other favorite places along the way. I used to dread the backed-up traffic on the highway ramp. I now look forward to this vantage point. The sun waits right there at the top of the ramp for me each day! I don’t even notice the powerlines and traffic in the way until I look back at the photos. It feels like just me and the sunrise in that moment.
The Nicetown tower with the church and bridge in the background looks so calm and soothing each day too. In reality, it is one of the more troubled areas of the city of Philadelphia. Looks may be deceiving but they can also be filled with possibility and hope for peace.

Day 2
A frog in the pond, how fun! Sunbathing in peace.

Day 3
Philadelphia has two rivers, the Deleware and the Schuylkill. The waterfront at Bartram’s Garden offers a peaceful retreat in another rough area of Philadelphia. I visited to map out my upcoming Fall color tour. This will be one of the stops. I will be back soon.

Day 4
One of my friends has a home that is surrounded on two sides by cornfields. Seeing the crispy stalks against the blue cloudy skies in the fall is refreshing and relaxing. And, this one little corn, like a glowing smile, made it even better today.

Day 5
I found one of nature’s artists' finest works. Taking time to notice such details helps me to slow down and bring peace to my mind and heart.

Day 6
I was sitting in a parking lot taking a work call when I noticed the fence of hearts next to me. I have previously shared the heart-shaped leaves of the morning glories that are all over the fences in the city. This is the first time I have noticed these heart outlines.
As the murder rate surpasses last year's record, I hope others will find reminders to keep their hearts open to love and peace.

Day 7
I took a few minutes outside the Farmer’s Market to capture the rows of Fall flowers. Blooming flowers always feels like nature’s peace sign.

Thanks for reading. I hope everyone looks for signs of peace and feels it in their hearts.
