Finding Lost Things
Is It a Process? — It Turns Out It Might Be

I was just talking to my husband this morning about the things I’ve been looking for in the house. Most recently, I’ve been looking for my Kindle Fire. I have three of them. The one I use most because of its size is my Kindle Paperwhite. It has a 6.8-inch display. It fits easily in my hand. And, in the dark of night, if you fire it up, you can find your way to bed just from the display. So, because I use it all the time, I pretty much always know where it is. I purchased it when I couldn’t find my older Kindle with a slightly smaller display. I don’t use the older one all that often, but it is there if I need it.
Purchasing a new one of something that you’re missing is a surefire way to find the lost item.

The Kindle that is missing is the larger one, the one that has a color display. I can also check my email on it. I don’t use it all that often just because it is larger, and the battery doesn’t keep a charge for very long. It’s sort of a luxury Kindle. The reason why I am looking for it is over the years, I’ve built up quite a library of books from Amazon. I go to Weberbooks.com every day to see what books are free at Amazon that day. I’ve got quite a lot of cookbooks. What I’m looking to read are three books about the Dash Diet and three books about the Mediterranean Diet in my collection, all free from Amazon via Weberbooks.com. My husband’s doctor recommended that he look into those diets. I’ve got the books. The pictures are in color, so I wanted to look at them on my Kindle Fire HD, which I cannot find at the moment.
For the longest time, it was in the bathroom. There is a plug on the wall we use to charge up a whole lot of our devices, phones, chargers, and Kindles. It had gotten crowded on that counter, so recently, I relocated the Kindle Fire. Except, now I can’t find it. It never fails. If I start clearing the clutter, I can’t find things.
The second thing I’m looking for are all my crochet hook making supplies. They should be in a big box. Should be. I have all sorts of saws and files, X-Acto knives and pocket knives, lots of sandpaper, my leather thimble, the book…wait, that stuff is in a shoe box. I just saw it in my mind’s eye. Shoot, this is fantastic. I just saw the book and the gauge in my mind’s eye.

I found it!!! The stuff was in two shoe boxes behind me. I laid it out on the bed and snapped a picture of all of it. I’m still missing a few items, like the saws, but for the most part, I’ve got enough to get back into the work. What a way to find stuff. Write about it on paper. I wonder if I’ll find the Kindle now? Wouldn’t that be something?
So, it appears when I sit here and fret about something that’s missing, nothing much happens. But, if I sit here and write about it, I find it? I wonder if that’s a thing?
I did ask my guide, Seth, for some help finding the Kindle the other day. Nothing much happened. So, I complained, “At least, point me in the right direction.” He said, “In the study”. It’s like an archeological dig in the study. As I stood in front of my desk he said, “Start here”. It’s been a couple of days, but I’ve slowly been putting things away and finishing up whatever partially finished projects I’d sat in front of me as I sit before my computer. I still can’t see the desk, but the pile is getting smaller.
I know there was something else I’ve been looking for. I just can’t remember it right now. Two things is enough. Plus, there was the added bonus to actually find one while I was writing this piece.
Okay, that’s enough of a brain drain. Thanks for reading. Let me know if you’re missing something, try writing about it and then end up finding it. It could be a real process.
Hey, I just found the big Kindle! It was in with my husband’s books. I was trying to remember the last time I’d used it, and I remembered I’d purchased a Kindle book I thought he would like to read.

Thanks for reading. As always, please clap, comment, follow, and subscribe for free.
