“Reclaim your curiosity, your sense of adventure, and have some fun. Don’t take every moment of your life so seriously. Allow yourself to enjoy life.” ― Akiroq Brost

On our trip to Japan in the summer of 2019, we found fun around every corner. It was a great lesson to let go and smile.

My favorite observation was that everything had a cute mascot. My favorite train line even had one. It is an adorable little bear with a green captain’s hat waving a flag.

Everywhere we turned, there was something fun to discover. It seemed so many things radiated a sense of coziness and amusement. It is a lesson to us all to find joy in our daily lives.

Fun is always there to discover if our hearts are open to it. You may see it in some colorful art supplies or a new way to prepare your favorite dish in the kitchen.

I saw these super cute happy panda donuts at the train station in Tokyo, Japan.

I believe you can have fun by paying attention to detail, as I saw on the cute donuts above. When we take care of our creations, we make joy for everyone to see.

It is in the enjoyment of our craft that we can find fun. I know the baker who made these donuts had a blast!

We saw a creative sign on a sidewalk in Tokyo, Japan.

We learned even street signs and signals are joyful. I love the depiction of the cartoon firefighters all decked out in a colorful grate on the street!

You can communicate your message in a fun way, and it does not take much time or effort.

My son was shocked at the size and scope of this cotton candy in Japan.

Making over-the-top things is a creative way to have fun. We were mesmerized by the giant rainbow cotton candy creations at Odaiba Island in Tokyo, Japan.

My husband and son are waiting in line for the Tokyo Disney Sea to open.

Even waiting in line can be fun if you have the right attitude. We discovered something magical at the Tokyo Disney Sea.

Everyone waiting in line had specially decorated mats to put on the floor so they could sit while waiting for the park to open. A kind family gave us an extra one to sit on.

My sister-in-law, Abby, and I wore colorful kimonos for our family photo.

We went to a photo studio in Tokyo to have our family picture taken. The kind staff fitted us into Kimonos, and we had fun picking out different colors, hairstyles, and more.

Our trip to Japan was a lesson in fun, joy, and adventure. I am very grateful we got to experience that together.

Thank you, Liberty Forrest, Author, for your beautiful prompt.
