WORK-LIFE BALANCE
Find A Peaceful Job By Asking These 10 Questions
How to achieve work-life harmony
Birds are chirping outside my office window. It’s 2:30pm on a sunny Friday afternoon, the best hour of the work week in my opinion. Anticipating the beautiful weekend ahead is my absolute favorite thing to do at work.
Let’s admit it, most of us work more to make money and less for the love of working. So by Wednesday, we’re just looking ahead to our two glorious days off.
But therein lies the dilemma, do we just rush through the weekdays simply to get to the weekends every week? Because if we do this, life will just pass us by. Or, do we find a way to enjoy our weekdays while still earning a paycheck?
This is precisely where work-life harmony comes into play.
A couple years ago, I took a pay cut of $10,000 to move from a toxic workplace into one of peace and less stress. It has made a world of difference in my life. My physical and mental health has improved; my stomach pain and anxiety episodes are less frequent. I’m focused on happiness and wealth and have surprisingly become financially richer since making the move.
I now work in a low profile role and enjoy a quasi-zen kind of workspace among kind, caring, and wellness-oriented people.
