Finally Home

After four days in the hospital

Hello, me lovelies. My apologies for not alerting everyone to my hospital stay, but it was out of my hands. I went in Wednesday morning for a CT scan — the infection hadn’t gotten better, so my doctor admitted me to the hospital straight away. I didn’t even have time to come home to get clothing and toiletries for my stay. Maddy had to do all of that for me.

I was put on intravenous antibiotics and a strong opioid for the pain. I’d been running a low-grade fever for at least two days before I was admitted and continued to run one for the first two days I was in the hospital. They were also a bit concerned about my super low blood pressure until they checked my previous hospital stays and saw that this was ‘normal’ for me — of course, I’d told them that, but they didn’t listen to me. Thankfully, my blood sugar was okay throughout the stay.

On Friday, I had an MRI. The doctor wanted to make sure the infection had spread to any other areas. Thankfully, it hadn’t. However, he did see a small lesion near the joint. He wants to keep an eye on that because it didn’t look sufficiently healed yet. He was going to let me go home yesterday, but because of the lesion, he decided to keep me in the hospital one more day on the intravenous antibiotics.

And so, now I am finally home. Things will be a bit touch and go for a couple of days. It is difficult for me to sit upright for very long and he wants me on bedrest for at least another two days. I have more antibiotics and pain killers to take and the combination makes me so damn sleepy. And at this moment, I am just ready to snuggle into my bed with Mr. Shugs McGroo and sleep for a while.

I promise to get everyone’s stories published later tonight. And prompts will be late — probably won’t come out until tomorrow. Again, I apologize for not being able to give everyone a head’s up. I hope you’ve all had a great weekend. I’ll be seeing you all around the Mediumverse.

Much love and gratitude
