Fill Yourself With Your Own Energy

In a world permeated with toxicity, make sure the energy you carry in your body is your own.

Yesterday right as I picked up my phone, I received a notification from Instagram that someone was going live. I usually don’t click on the messages, but this time, I did. I happened upon a session given by Trece Spalten. I had taken a seminar a few months earlier led by him and Lisa Batitto about spirit guides.

During his engaging presentation, the technology went down exactly when he was saying something that perked my interest even more. When that happened, I asked the universe why it was blocking me? I found out that everyone couldn’t hear. It’s so interesting how things like that occur when people are doing spiritual work.

He talked to us all about how we need to fill ourselves with our own energy. He said that sometimes our body could be dominated primarily by others’ energies. I had an aha moment. I said to myself, yes, I get it!

I am an empath and absorb people's energy very easily. I realized for years I was soaking up others’ toxic thoughts. My body was congested with the manifestations of other people and not mine. I carried their burdens as my own.

I was a healthcare provider, and I interacted with patients that I had known for years. I heard about their problems and also consulted and treated them for their health-related ones. I became very invested in their lives in so many ways.

I sucked up negative energy from family and friends as well. Some people continually dumped their adverse thoughts on me, and I willingly took it all in trying to help them. I accepted their power and beliefs and gave away mine in the interim.

I consciously set out on a healing journey a couple of years ago after my life felt like it was spinning out of control due to all the upheavals and changes. I didn’t feel like myself, and I needed to make sense of all the turmoil.

I was being pulled down into the despair of other people.

I became aware that I was living my life for everyone but me. I had morphed into what people thought I should be and not who I indeed was.

I had accepted others’ views and values as my own. I adjusted my personality and who I was to please everyone but myself. I dimmed my light to fit others’ ideas of how I should act and present myself to the world. I gave my power away and lost the essence of who I was.

What Trece said about taking foreign energy into our bodies was so profound to me. He talked of how we need to be conscious of our bodies. He gave us a daily ritual to be mindful of our body and the energy in it.

He taught us how to find our energy and expand it through our being, and then spread it out into the universe.

Wow, I thought, how many of us are bogged down by the weight of others’ opinions and problems. We get caught up in all the crap happening in the world. It’s easy to get sucked up in people’s realities and then carry that in our thoughts and bodies.

“Poisonous people are like black holes : they drain your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual energy leaving you a hollow husk of your former self.” ~ Dr. Anne Brown

Hearing the message yesterday was the Universe stepping in and reminding me that I need to protect myself against outside influences. Taking care of ourselves and being aware of not overextending is not being selfish. It’s loving and valuing ourselves. We need to be mindful of the people we surround ourselves with because their vibrations combine with ours.
