What gets you excited about your days and weeks ahead?
Who do you most want to be with at work and home?
You are passionate about these things and the people in your life. Learn what you are passionate about.
It’s the key to success and happiness.
Lesson to Learn
Life is a journey, not a destination.
How we live it, moment-by-moment, is what makes up our lives.
When you find what you are passionate about, you will be able to fill your moments with more meaning and purpose.
You will be able to jump out of bed each morning.
Sure, you might still need that cup of coffee. However, the rest of your day will go quickly when you are working on projects and with people you truly are excited to have in your life.
Finding your passion is key to leading an amazing life.
Answer for Me
Listening to my feelings does not come naturally to me. I tend to want to be logical and data-driven.
However, these tendencies alone will not bring me happiness and success.
I have learned to tune into what gets me excited and motivated. When it comes, I take note of it.
These mini-passions help me create a life that I love living.
Finding what you are passionate about will help you do the same. But, be forewarned; you may be deeply surprised by what you learn. It is likely to lead you in directions you would not have predicted.
As I look back, I am humbled by what I have had the opportunity to become. It’s not what I thought about as I was growing up — it’s so much better.
When you follow your passions and learn how to make them a meaningful part of your life, you build the best life for yourself.
Passion with a purpose has created a great life for me. It can do so for you.
Action
What are you most passionate about?
Make a list. It can include anything and anybody you want. Don’t limit yourself.
The list can be as long or as short as you wish. However, don’t discount the little things. I like to cook. I didn’t learn that about myself until I was in my forties. Now I do it nearly every night.
Filling your life with those things you love to do and have real meaning for you is crucial.
Take special note of the people you most love to spend time with. Why is that? How do they make you feel? Do they make you a better person? If so, they belong on your list.
Now, with your list in hand, put more of the things and people you love into your life. It can be in small and large ways. Start today.
Make that phone call you want to make to that person you are missing. Try that work or home project you always wanted to start. Ask for that role you know you are going to be passionate about and good at.
Don’t delay. It is the start of something exceptional.
