Fighting to Survive
If I don’t make it through I will disappear forever.

I am gasping for air.
I can’t move my arms.
I don’t have enough water for tomorrow.
I can barely stand on my own two feet.
My skin is burning from the heat.
I am starving,
I am all alone.
What do I do?
My heart is telling me to fall into the depths of the ocean.
My mind is telling me to fight the pain and survive.
I made a promise that I will return home and save my city.
My family misses me.
My city needs me.
I can’t abandon the promise.
People are counting on me to return and save my city.
If I give up, I am the loser.
If my city gets destroyed, that is all on me.
The lives of millions are on my hands.
I must survive.
I must overcome the obstacles and fight the pain.
Survive, Aaditya, Survive.
