Fight or Flight? How About Neither?
I started out channeling the Archangels today regarding an article I want to write addressing whether or not God punishes us on Earth with natural disasters and disease and such, but it kind of took another turn. The Angels ended up talking more about the whole “fight or flight” reaction to fear, so I rolled with it. Below, you’ll find their wisdom and advice.
From the Archangels:
The problems on Earth today scare many people. You have heard the phrase, “fight or flight,” which has been the common human reaction to fear in the past. For those who choose “flight,” escape, ignorance, separation, and denial often take root. They prefer to not get involved as well as to isolate themselves until they feel safe again.
Others choose “fight,” and they do want to get involved, usually so they can overpower and stop whatever it is that frightens them. One way is not necessarily better than the other or worse than another, but neither is very effective.
Consider the COVID virus that has kept so many in fear for the last two years and continues to do so. Those who are scared and choose “flight” react by taking safety measures such as getting vaccinated, wearing masks, and isolating themselves. These measures can help to keep some, not all, safer, but they do not solve the problem.
Those who reacted to the fear COVID caused by wanting to “fight,” were unable to fight the virus, a microscopic organism, so they sought other targets, including politics, government, safety suggestions, and blaming the Chinese. Some not only targeted those in China, but those whose ancestry can be traced to China and were nowhere near the initial outbreak. Their angry, sometimes violent reactions did absolutely nothing to fix the problem.
Neither option brought a solution, neither brought a feeling of peace, and neither group was dispelled of their fear. At most, some actions may have slowed down the spread of the deadly virus, but all of the actions combined did nothing to put an end to the virus.
This is just one example of how choosing “fight or flight” is ineffective. We realize that there are some situations that require immediate action. Impending violence or abuse, for example, can call for split-second decision-making. However, if you consider most problems, there is usually some time available before action is needed and decisions are made. Use that time to clear and calm your mind. Tamp down your emotions, stop looking for a hiding place or a target, and consider the situation as objectively, logically, and emotionally free as possible. Reining in your emotions does not mean you care less, it means you care enough to consider carefully before acting or reacting.
Consider what information you have and what you are missing. You cannot make a sound decision if you do not have all the information. Speak to and listen to others and consider all points of view. Do not limit yourself to only the ideas you want to hear. Trying to silence or disregard others’ opinions will not solve anything.
Think beyond what will help you personally and consider how the problem affects everyone. At this time, the world is so interconnected in so many ways, that what happens on the other side of the world will eventually affect all parts of the world. Consider the Ukraine War and how multiple economies around the world are affected and how many voices from all over the globe have joined the discussion regarding the two countries directly involved.
Only after you consider all facets of a problem should you begin to consider taking any action, always thinking of a final solution, so there is no longer a problem to face.
Going back to the Ukraine conflict, however it plays out, the problem will not be solved. War is never a final solution. It can resemble a solution, but the problem will not be solved until the people and causes that led up to it are dealt with, so the end of the problem can be found. Final solutions are never found by choosing between “fight or flight.”
Until the people of the world choose a better way to handle problematic situations that goes beyond “fight or flight,” problems will worsen, persist, and increase. It will not be the governments or the people in power who will solve the world’s problems. It will be the masses, and those solutions will be found by working together worldwide and by realizing that all human life is equally important around the world.
Until people unite and work together and realize that you are all connected and affect the overall balance of life, the problems that threaten you the most will not be solved. At most, they will be slowed or postponed, but you will not be free of them. Until the people around the globe stand together and for each other, and until they create real solutions beyond reactions of “fight or flight,” the Earth and her people will continue to struggle.
Be forewarned, those in charge do not want this unity. They like pulling their strings to control people. They feed the fires of hostility and polarity, because you are easily controlled and manipulated through your emotions. They turn you against each other, so they can remain in power. See through them and their schemes and work together to change the world and solve its problems.
Final Thoughts
Emotions can cloud thoughts. That’s not to say that’s always a bad thing, depending on the emotion of course, but if we’re going to solve the world’s problems and make it a better, safer place to live, we’re going to have to do what the Archangels say about working together and thinking logically regarding all sides of the problems we face. They’re also right about how globally connected, not to mention spiritually connected, the world has become. Any major events make themselves known everywhere, not just because we have easy access to information, but because of the domino effect that’s become inevitable.
Both of the problems they mentioned — COVID and Ukraine — are affecting many people and countries everywhere. “Their” problems are now our problems, whether we like it or not. Things cannot be isolated anymore. COVID started in China, and the entire world was affected and included in the crisis. The Ukraine conflict is not only affecting many of us emotionally but the economies of many nations are affected, as well as the possibility of other countries becoming involved. We can’t just close our borders and expect to avoid any problems that originate elsewhere. We’re all too intertwined in too many ways to remain aloof and independent of others’ circumstances.
We have got to start learning, speaking, listening, planning and working together. What’s the saying … ‘many hands make light work’, or even better, ‘let’s put our heads together and join forces!’
Blessing to all of you, all around the world!
