Summary

The website content discusses the complexities and political manipulations surrounding the topic of abortion, particularly in the context of Oklahoma's restrictive laws, emphasizing the need for truth and education to protect the rights and well-being of women and children.

Abstract

The article titled "Fifth Grade and Pregnant in Oklahoma" delves into the contentious issue of abortion, challenging readers to look beyond political rhetoric and consider the real-world implications of anti-abortion legislation. It criticizes politicians who use the guise of being "pro-life" to secure campaign funds while failing to support children and women post-birth. The author argues that the true essence of being pro-life involves comprehensive care for the living, not just legislating against abortion. The piece underscores the importance of addressing unwanted pregnancies through education and prevention, rather than stripping women of their reproductive rights. It also highlights the plight of an eleven-year-old rape victim who, under Oklahoma's new law, would be forced to carry her pregnancy to term, questioning the morality and practicality of such legislation. The author calls for a shift in focus from political gains to the actual lives affected by these policies, advocating for equality and respect for women's rights as the only path forward for the betterment of society.

Opinions

  • The author believes that many "pro-life" advocates are more concerned with political and financial gain than with the well-being of children and women.
  • Anti-abortion laws are seen as a facade for politicians to appear morally upright while neglecting the needs of the living, such as healthcare, education, and support for women and children.
  • The article suggests that the term "pro-life" is misleading when it does not encompass support for programs that benefit infants, children, and women.
  • It is argued that the anti-abortion stance is not truly about saving lives but rather about controlling women's bodies and rights.
  • The author emphasizes that privilege allows individuals to ignore issues like abortion and equality unless they are personally affected.
  • The piece criticizes the lack of action against rapists and child molesters, contrasting it with the stringent laws against abortion.
  • It is posited that education and prevention of unwanted pregnancies are key to reducing the need for abortions, rather than simply outlawing them.
  • The author advocates for raising daughters to be trusted with their own bodies and for teaching sons respect for themselves and others.
  • The article calls for readers to educate themselves beyond political propaganda and to demand that politicians prioritize the well-being of children and future generations over power and money.

Not Knowing the Facts is No Longer an Option.

Fifth Grade and Pregnant in Oklahoma

We fight not against flesh and bone but against politicians and principalities vying for corporate campaign funds.

Privilege Is When You Don’t Have to Think About Something Because It Doesn’t Affect You.

I understand that abortion is a very uncomfortable subject. It takes courage to discuss a complex topic — especially in today’s climate.

Politics are split along party lines. I don’t give a damn what your party affiliation is- it’s time for some straight and honest talk.

I was raised to believe abortion was wrong. I had four miscarriages, and I would get upset doctors referred to them as “natural abortions.” I was young and from the South, and also raised in a very uneducated Christian home.

My opinion on abortion changed when I realized the “anti-abortion” promoters don’t give a damn about children, babies, or fetuses.

What?!!

Pro-life requires more than political antics and fundraising. Pro-life means the life of the child. Otherwise, you’re just a pro-birth wretched son-of-a-bitch — fundraising on the premise of innocent children; you’re leading to the morgue.

Politicians are banking on consumers and constituents being so uncomfortable with the word “abortion” and the power it holds that it will cause you to donate without requiring one shred of truth.

Anti-abortion doesn’t save babies; it costs lives. Lives of children with names, birth certificates, and smiles.

Anti-abortion only stops safe abortion. Politicians stoking the flames of “anti-abortion” and calling it “Pro-life” is a form of marketing to make you forget they are fundraising!

How do I know?

“Pro-life” sounds like it cares for life, right?

How often do you see or hear politicians campaign so heavily on “anti-abortion” and then actually do anything for the children? Where are the results?

Claiming pro-life and then cutting all programs for infants, children, and women is anything but pro-life. It’s setting up generations of unwanted, abused, uneducated boys and girls that will bankrupt society with unrestricted access to guns, ammunition, and pain.

Don’t let politicians who lie about EVERYTHING be your source for understanding reproductive responsibilities for our future children. You’re smarter than that!

Privilege is believing abortion and equality are someone else’s problems.

The anti-abortion hype has nothing to do with fetuses, babies, or Women’s Rights. It has to do with corrupt, power-hungry politicians as morally bankrupt as they are braindead.

It’s all about marketing, and marketing is money.

Conservatives aren’t conservative about anything — that is code for rich, White, and neo-Christian.

Educate yourself. Politicians counting on the masses' uninformed ignorance while plotting to destroy our future generations — - can only be stopped by understanding what they say is often not at all what they are doing!

How can stopping abortion help the problem if we don’t prevent unwanted pregnancies? If we cannot stop rape, how can we stop women from having rights over their bodies?

How do we tell our daughter’s that we’re allowing these kinds of laws for their good?

In Oklahoma, an eleven-year-old child who is raped will be forced to go to fifth grade pregnant.

Who will stand up for her? How can a child provide for a child? What is she going to do? Who’s responsibility is she?

Now ask yourself, how did she get pregnant? Where are the laws against rapists and child molesters? Those laws are slowly being whittled away by the men (in power) impregnating eleven-year-old little girls.

That is your proof it’s political.

What politician gives a damn about a pregnant child? It’s all about money and power. We cannot expect politicians to legislate “kinder” for our children. We must demand they leave our children out of their never-ending quest for power.

We cannot assume that one child is just a statistic. We cannot be so privileged that we think this issue doesn’t affect us personally. When we reduce the value of one life, it devalues every life.

Oklahoma has the country's fourth-highest teen pregnancy rate in the country, and this is their answer.

Why don’t we raise our daughters so that we trust them to make the right decisions for their bodies?

Our sons should also be taught respect for their bodies and their worth and not be filled with false ideas of their value. There is no one who is more valuable than another. Developing respect for women in our sons starts here.

Equality is the only way to ensure the future for all.

Was it the moment when she was raped that little girl’s life was reduced to less than the value of the fetus she was carrying? How do you explain that to an eleven-year-old child?

That is the sum of the decision. Making blanket policies without caring about the facts is more intentional ignorance by the people in power.

Please educate yourself. Don’t be motivated by “weaponized” words. We need truth to save children. Calling it “saving babies” while legislating to kill children is inhumane — not Christian.

Here is a story about the choices we make and the consequences of those choices.

Until women help save women — we’re gonna have an uphill battle. We need you!

The only thing that reduces the need for abortions is truth.
