Christmas time and one more year coming to an end is often times a period when we look at the year that has passed and reminisce on the good and the bad that has happened.

Since this has personally been a year of more than a few changes, I decided to think about more than just the year that has passed and think about all that I’ve gone through during my career and would like to write about some of the things I believe I’ve learned in different leadership roles in different types of companies.

Companies differ in more than just the industry that they are a part of, they differ in size, evolution phase, and culture, among other things. I have been fortunate enough to work in companies that were different in all of these aspects, I’ve worked in a big multinational corporation with a long history, in a unicorn company transitioning from a startup phase into a corporate phase, and am presently working in a startup that has less than 20 employees.

As you can expect, the culture and people in these companies do differ, but there are certain tools that can be of use in all of them.

This December, I have decided to go back to writing and starting a challenge to keep me writing every day. So, I will write a series of articles on my findings working as a people leader. A series called “Festive Leadership Chronicles: Unwrapping Success in the Workplace” in which I will write about navigating challenges, inspiring growth, and developing success stories.
