The article discusses the author's personal discomfort with wearing face masks, questioning their efficacy and exploring alternative perspectives on health and well-being during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The author shares a deeply personal account of the anxiety experienced when wearing face masks, revealing a preference for not wearing them due to feelings of discomfort and the belief that they cause oxygen reduction. Despite public health guidelines recommending face masks to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the author seeks insights from doctors with contrarian views, such as Dr. Rashid Buttar, Minnesota Senator Scott Jensen, M.D., Dr. Zach Bush, and Bruce Lipton, PhD. These experts suggest that mask-wearing may have negative health impacts, and they advocate for strengthening the immune system through natural means. The article encourages readers to consider diverse viewpoints, listen to their intuition, and make informed choices about mask-wearing based on personal health beliefs and comfort levels.

Opinions

  • The author feels unsafe and anxious while wearing a face mask, preferring not to wear one even outside.
  • Dr. Rashid Buttar argues that face masks can cause hypoxic injury by reducing oxygen and increasing carbon dioxide intake.
  • Minnesota Senator Scott Jensen, M.D. points out that standard face masks are not designed to filter out the tiny Covid-19 virus particles.

Feeling Anxious When Wearing a Face-Mask Doesn’t Mean I Need Therapy

My Body Will Not Get Over Wearing a Face Mask and Now I Know Why

The first time I wore a face-mask to a grocery store I felt like I was dying.

I never shopped so quickly in my life. I just had to get out of the store.

I find that if I think about wearing a mask too much I get worked up.

Case in point, I was planning to see my daughter’s drive-through graduation that is scheduled in mid-August. My partner and I were going to fly out because it would have been easier for him to get back sooner to work.

Thankfully the plans fell apart and only the people who are driving are the ones going to her graduation. I feel safer in my car than navigating a uber ride with a mask and sitting in an airport and airplane wearing a mask.

What I have come to know about myself is that I feel safer not wearing a mask. I know that must seem crazy but I can’t help it. Even outside you will not see me wearing a face mask when I walk my dogs. I do not have the bandwidth for wearing face masks outside.

I will honor those around me who have mask-wearing guidelines in social gatherings like shopping for groceries or local businesses but that is it.

And these days I am just not going out much because I feel uncomfortable with the whole face mask-wearing deal.

Should I Wear a Mask to Protect Against Coronavirus Disease? Is There a Right Way to Do This?

Wearing a face mask depends on who you listen to for advice and who you view as an expert.

There are Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and The World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines in place that recommend that wearing face masks is imperative to stopping the spread of Covid-19.

I am not so convinced!

And that is what sent me looking for research from other doctors that are not on the political stage and have more of a vested interest in people versus their bank accounts.

What’s beyond the social media, the popular news, and media outlets that are just trying to boost ratings and gain followers as their bottom line?

That’s what I endeavor to know as I write this article.

Also, PLEASE know that I am not a conspiracy theory activist and that my only intent here is to give you additional insight so that maybe we can have more compassion with others as they choose to wear or not wear a mask.

To Wear A Mask or Not? That Is The Question

DISCLAIMER: I recognize that it is in my nature and in human nature to seek out those that align with our point of view.

And as I write this I want to be very aware of that agenda because what’s most important here is that we remain open-minded and not glued to the idea of a one-size-fits-all mentality.

So let’s look at answering the question of should I wear a mask to protect against Covid-19 from some unfamiliar viewpoints. Viewpoints that are not being shared on the local media channels.

Dr. Rashid Buttar

Dr. Buttar is the founder of Advanced Medicine. A group of doctors that have a different philosophy on health and well-being.

“Dr. Buttar’s philosophy is based on the premise that all disease begins with the 7 Toxicities, all of which increase oxidative stress and result in pathology (or disease). The key to this philosophy is that if you can “effectively” (effectively being the key operative word) detoxify the body by reducing or eliminating all 7 of these toxicities, chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, neurodegenerative disease, etc, by definition can NOT exist.”

Dr. Buttar’s recent youtube video on wearing face masks urges us to start asking questions. Why aren’t government leaders wearing face masks and why are we being told that we should?

Dr. Buttar talks about the physiology that happens in a body when we restrict air-flow for more than a couple of minutes.

According to Dr. Buttar, wearing a face mask causes something called Hypoxic Injury. Hypoxic means a partial lack of oxygen.

Whenever you restrict airflow you are breathing in more carbon-dioxide. Breathing in more carbon-dioxide puts your body into stress by reducing your body’s ability to oxygenate.

Also, Dr. Buttar explains in his video why surgeons wear masks. He wants you to understand that the only reason a surgeon wears a mask is to keep the operating field sterile.

Minnesota Senator Scott Jensen, M.D.

Dr. Jensen tells us that the typical face mask (cloth or medical mask) is designed to keep out particulate matter greater than .3 microns.

So the question becomes, how big is a Covid-19? You may be surprised to know that a Covid-19 virus is the size of .1 microns.

And again he echos the same sentiments that Dr. Buttar purports that surgical masks were only designed to keep unnecessary bacteria from the surgeon out of the operating field.

Dr. Zach Bush Microbiome Advocate

Let’s look at the work of Dr. Zach Bush a triple board-certified physician that has some different viewpoints about this pandemic. And is the founder of the non-profit called Farmer’s Footprint. An organization that promotes sustainable organic farming practices that revitalize our depleted soils. Soil that has been stripped of nutrients by commercial farming practices.

He believes that no one should ever be elected to a political position without knowing the second law of thermodynamics. A quantum physics term that states any system put into isolation will increase its entropy.

He believes that we should be outside as much as possible and breathing in fresh air often because it strengthens our microbiome.

Our microbiome is, in essence, our gut bacteria, and it’s a crucial component to our health and well-being. Just like the soil of the earth is the gut bacteria and microbiome of the earth. Giving our microbiome the nutrients it requires is what makes it immune to pathogens.

Varied exposure to healthy bacteria in the great outdoors will empower our immune systems and make them stronger.

“The further we depart from nature in our social and technologic lifestyles, the more disorder and disease we face.” Dr. Zach Bush

Bruce Lipton, PhD

Dr. Lipton is a Stem Cell biologist and the author of “The Biology of Belief.”

His work is fascinating because it scientifically shows how beliefs are stored in our cells and affect the physiology of the human being.

His beliefs as does Dr. Bush that isolation is counterintuitive.

“If you are someone with a compromised immune system, it is supportive to surround yourself with loving family and friends, nature, and positive thoughts as well as any other nutrition and vitamins that you may already be taking for your health and wellbeing. Following your intuition about what is best for you is key! The point here is that no matter who you are and what your state of health, you will only benefit from steering clear of the fear and supporting yourself in whatever way feels best to you.” Dr. Bruce Lipton

Make Up Your Mind and Do What Works For You!

I am not here to tell anyone what’s right or wrong here. The purpose of writing this article was to get clear in my mind why I have been feeling like I’ve been going a little crazy with this whole mask business.

I now know that the anxiousness I experience when wearing a face-mask is normal.

The anxiousness is my body’s way of saying, “Hey enough with the oxygen reduction because we already have enough to deal with.”

It’s comforting to know that there is nothing wrong with the way I feel when I put on a mask.

And that any stress I may have before I put on a mask will be exacerbated by wearing a mask.

Knowing that will allow me to know how much I need to limit my mask-wearing and how best to take care of me when I wear one.

Always Listen to Your Intuition!
