Feeling Ancient This Morning

A poem about making it through the day.

She might not straighten

Bones’ pain deep

Muscles’ scream

Junctions inflamed

Mind; a space,

thoughts fill

to overload

Sigh, distract, heighten.

Desire for sweet

Balance with salt

Highways lined

Beats excite

Power jive

Clear radicals

Old molars crumble

Eyes blur

All is clear
