Feeling Ancient This Morning

A poem about making it through the day.

Photo by Vladimir Soares on Unsplash

She might not straighten

Bones’ pain deep

Muscles’ scream

Junctions inflamed

Mind; a space,

thoughts fill

to overload

Sigh, distract, heighten.

Desire for sweet

Balance with salt

Highways lined

Beats excite

Power jive

Clear radicals

Old molars crumble

Eyes blur

Spectacles

All is clear

Ancient but still here

Thanks for reading.

Delighted by the invite from Ravyne Hawke to join Martin Rushton’s amazing Never-Ending Poem.

Note: Feel free to post your poem on any publications that allow it, but please tag and link back to Martin’s original poem and to me. Many thanks.
