February Writing Prompt: Share the Love
Love is in the air, or is that flatulence? No, I meant flattery!
It’s February and that means it’ll be Valentine’s day on the high seas. This is a special time of the year for all seafaring couples. As the ship sets sail, the sound of the waves and the salty sea air provides the perfect backdrop to a romantic getaway.
The horizon is painted with a beautiful sunset, and the gentle rocking of the ship creates a sense of intimacy. As the night falls, the stars begin to light up the sky. Couples can enjoy a candlelit dinner on the deck, and for couples looking to tie the knot, the ship’s captain may even announce a shipboard wedding ceremony.
However, Valentine’s Day isn’t to be celebrated only by the lovely couples. There is plenty of love to go around for everyone to make the day unique and unforgettable!
Prompt #1: Share the love!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery so pick one (or several!) of your favorite author(s) and write a short fan fic story using their characters! Maybe we’ll get that alternate love story ending featuring Jonathon Sawyer’s Eshami, or perhaps an epic fight scene with Jay C Wells’ Ylva written by a loving fan? (Please ask permission from the original character’s author to avoid stepping on toes. Consent is sexy!)
Prompt #2: Boatload of love ❤
Write about a couple on a (romantic?) boat ride that gets hit by a terrible storm. They get shipwrecked and must rely on each other. Do they grow fonder of each other or does the tribulation drive to each other’s throats?
