February 2023: Monthly Theme — Relationships
What are the key ingredients of a healthy relationship?
Relationships— the way we react to, are connected to, or behave towards other people- are some definitions of the word relationship. What does the word relationship mean to you?
Below is a couple of questions to ponder within the “relationships” monthly theme:
- Do the way we perceive ourselves impact our relationship with the world or others?
- Do a positive or negative outlook impact how we react to our world, others, and ourselves?
- How do our emotions impact our relationships?
- What do you expect from a relationship with a loved one, family or friends?
- What are the key ingredients for a successful and healthy relationship?
Love and conflict often go hand in hand — they seem to be intertwined. We can try very hard to avoid clashes between the two opposites. Sometimes the intensity of our feelings of love can lead to frustrations, arguments, and misunderstanding. It can happen in our relationships, both romantic and platonic, as well as within families.
Love can bring great joy and comfort, while conflict brings stress that is difficult to handle. It is easy to view love and conflict as opposing forces. However, as much as we hate conflict with people we love, it can help us to grow as people if we have a reflective and growth mindset.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to love and conflict is that they are both necessary in order to reach a resolution. Conflict can challenge us, open our eyes to the many possible solutions to a situation, and sometimes even make us stronger.
Below are ten prompts about this month’s theme. You are welcome to submit any story related to a prompt or relationships in general.
