In Nigeria, we have a saying, “What you’re went searching for in Sókótó city (hundreds of miles away), is right inside the pockets of your ṣòkòtò (your trousers).”
Sókótó is a big city in North West Nigeria while ṣòkòtò is a Nigerian Yoruba word meaning trousers.
What makes the above saying interesting is the homographic pair of Sókótó and ṣòkòtò. Here is the kick, even though they spell the same when loosely translated into English language, each of them has a different pronunciation and meaning.
Next time, you hear that homographic tongue-twister from a Nigerian, he is simply telling you to relax because the solution you’re searching for far away from home is right by your side. Now.
Enter my Drafts 2Go
If you use Notion app, my Drafts 2Go is a greatly relieving alternative writing app for Medium writers on Android mobile devices.
First things first, I am not the author of this Notion template. I only customized and rechristened the original Notion template from Medium Drafts 2.0 to “Drafts 2Go” for personal use. At one point, I even renamed it Medium 2Go but decided to change it to Drafts 2Go in deference to Tony Stubblebine and the other great guys at Medium.
Why you need Drafts 2Go
- On Substack, I can write, edit, and publish on all device form factors — smartphones, tablets, and laptops. The editing tools and writing results are refreshingly consistent irrespective of your device form factor. Alas, this is not so with Medium.
- Medium mobile writing app is a different ball game. Writing and editing on the mobile app is frustratingly next to impossibility. On Android devices, you can’t even do basic editing like “Undo”, “Redo”, or step back by a paragraph if you need to. You must always get back to your desktop to finish editing or publishing your stories.
- For whatever reason, Medium has imposed this limitation despite numerous app upgrades. This is a lagging setback as inspiration often hits you while you’re far away, untethered from your laptop or the web.
- If you use Notion, Drafts 2Go is the almost perfect Medium writing app for your Android devices.
- Drafts 2Go is your go-to app for capturing and building your story ideas on the go. Your work on this Android Notion template syncs with your desktop Notion app. From the latter, you can copy your work to Medium desktop app, and polish up your work before hitting publish.
Drafts 2Go Notion template has solved most of the setbacks that swarms you on Medium’s Android app.
With it, I now have a running working knowledge of Notion app. Drafts 2Go is more than enough reason for using Notion app.

No, you can’t publish your stories directly from Drafts 2Go, but with it, writing, editing, and keeping track of your Medium stories is a delightful experience.
