Fascinating How Some People Make Their Fortunes Just From Doing Simple Stuff Isn’t It?

So, what have you been up to since we last ‘spoke’ here on Medium.com? Anything exciting?

Here on the island we had some quite unusual visitors not too long ago.

A Bentley Owners Club was travelling round Australia and decided to make Magnetic Island one of their stops.

There were some absolutely incredible cars, with pretty much all of them worth a small fortune and one that was said to be worth literally millions of dollars, because it won some famous race in the 1930’s or something.

Anyway, you could buy a really nice house for less than what some of these little beauties cost.

These folks came from all over the world and shipped their cars to Australia especially for this event.

Not sure I would have risked bringing a classic Bentley over on the car ferry to the island, but they all seemed to survive the journey without a scratch. All 50 of them!

They traveled over in groups of about 7 or 8 at a time.

They certainly drew a lot of attention from island residents and visitors alike and with so many millionaires on the island at one time, the local business and bar owners were not complaining, that’s for sure!

I got talking to one of the owners in a bar (where else?) over in Horseshoe Bay and he said he had shipped his car from Switzerland. (Home of many a multi-millionaire I guess, since it’s a tax haven).

Anyway, he said he envied me living on such a beautiful island.

I said that he seemed to be doing alright for himself as well!

To which he replied that he had worked hard and earned every bloody penny.

He was fascinated to learn that I earn my living from mainly online projects and wanted to hear more. Interesting how even very wealthy people are always interested in how others have succeeded. I’m the same myself. I always want to know how people have become successful.

He asked me what would be the one thing that I would put my success down to. I thought for a moment and said, “Not giving up when things got tough.”

“How about you?”, I said.

He smiled and said, “Oh, pretty much the same, I’d say.”

I was just about to ask him what his business was, when he was told by his wife that someone wanted to ask him a few questions about the car. Damn! Never did find out what he did to earn his fortune.

Sometimes it can be just a simple little idea that can make you millions. Like the woman that my wife was telling me about the other day.

Apparently, this woman was sick and tired of calling her young teenage son and having him just completely ignore her calls when he was out and about.

She isn’t an overly possessive or worrying Mum, just wants to make sure her son is safe, or to see what time he’ll be home etc. Of course, teenagers will be teenagers and he most often just ignored her calls.

The fact that, I believe, she had bought the expensive phone for him and was footing the bill so that he could stay connected and let her know if he was going to be late home etc, irked her even more to have her calls ignored.

If you think about it, she didn’t know if he was ignoring the calls, or if he’d been run over by a bus, or whatever.

Anyway, being sick and tired of this, she decided to do something about it and she got an app developed that would help solve the problem of many a parent with young school age kids.

The app is called ‘Ignore No More’ and it allows a parent to remotely lock their child’s smartphone until they call back and check in with the parent.

Until they call back, they can’t access things like video games, play music, go online or use any other apps on their phone. They can’t call anyone else either, except anyone on a pre-set list and the emergency services.

Only when they have called their parent back can they get the password that will unlock their phone and return it to normal.

Worried parents (who are footing the phone bill anyway), will be relieved to hear from their child and to know they are safe, even if it is an annoyance for the child.

When asked what he thought of his Mum’s invention, her son apparently said that he thought it was a fabulous idea, but for others, not for him. :-)

I predict that this one simple idea could make this mum a fortune!

Like I said, sometimes it can be just a simple little idea that can make you millions.

Of course, we can’t all just conjure up an idea that will make us millions at the drop of a hat can we?

What we CAN do though is to DO a number of simple projects that can collectively make us a very nice income indeed.

After all, that is pretty much what I do myself. It’s also what I teach others to do as well.

It doesn’t happen overnight, (nothing worthwhile does), but learning about these money generating projects (from me, or someone else who has actually succeeded and actually DOES the things they teach), then building up your knowledge as you go along and then ultimately running with an idea or a project or two, is what will ultimately lead to you building and improving a ‘Plan B’ income for yourself.

I enjoy what I do and I enjoy and get a real kick out of showing others how to do this stuff. And as I have said many times, the reality is that this stuff isn’t rocket science.

You just have to want to learn how to do these online projects and you then have to commit to becoming a sort of apprentice, if you like. Serve your time before the mast, as they say, and learn from me how I now do what I do and how you can do the same.
