POETRY
False Alarm
Read the fine print

Dinnertime, and I needed to eat; Too impatient to formally cook, I opened a soup can. As it warmed, I tried it, but it did not have taste! Puzzled, frowning, I stirred it more and took another lick. Still nothing! Suddenly, it became obvious — that my tastebuds had been compromised by the dreaded COVID! Disbelief! The room spun with questions until I saw the “healthy recipe” label. The soup was flavorless by design.
Credit to Arjan Tupan for creating the tritriplicata poem format: 5 lines with syllables in a 3–6–9–6–3 sequence and a volta, if possible.
Other poems with humor that I’ve written:
Figment of My Imagination, Holiday Hangover, Stretch Goal, Mixed Nuts, Over the Limit
