Fallen Tree Creates Protective Shade

June Six Word Photo Story Challenge “Power of One”

The Fallen Tree Creates Unique Environment

I captured this tree while out walking early one morning along by the Thames, Greater London.

I noticed about ten men jogging in twos and threes and one lone man who changed his mind and turned around to walk back towards me just after the jogging men rounded the corner and disappeared.

My sixth sense kicked in and I felt unsafe. I should not have dared to walk by the Thames so early in the morning all alone. After all, the usual commuters are not around on the weekend. (Safety in numbers, you see.) Nothing but men here. Sorry men, but it’s true. I am the lone woman here, and for a moment, I was afraid. I walked briskly back to the bridge at Teddington Lock.

Always appear confident. Take big strides. Stay safe.
