Fall Brings a Different Perspective to a Favorite Mountain Biking Route
The Road Less Travelled-Volume 35-Exploring the McDonough State Forest Near Bowman Lake State Park

Even if something is left undone, everyone must take time to sit still and watch the leaves turn — Elizabeth Lawrence
Welcome back to my Biking Adventures publication. I recently wrote an article as a call for writers:
Even though I started this publication several years ago, I haven’t made much of an effort to develop it until now. As my followers know, I have been publishing many of my mountain biking adventures in my Gardening, Birding, and Outdoor Adventure publication. So once again I encourage you to submit articles to my Biking Adventures publication. My submission guidelines are simple and straightforward.
In Search of Fall Colors Here in Central NY
On Friday the 22nd of September, I set out on one of my favorite loop rides near Bowman Lake State Park in the McDonough State Forest. I know, I’ve written about this before. OK, more than once before. It’s one of my favorite destinations and the different seasons give it a totally different feel. Thanks to the changing seasons here in this part of the country, it never gets old.

My route took me by two picturesque ponds and several back roads in the vicinity of Bowman Lake State Park. I bike in this area fairly often but my route is not always the same as there are a lot of possibilities to choose from. Each route offers its own unique characteristics. I am lucky to live in an area with so many State forests and parks to choose from.

Fall is my favorite season. I am so lucky to live in the Northeast as we get an extra bonus come this time of the year. To me, there is nothing more stunning than the bright colors of Fall glistening in the bright sun. It just can’t be surpassed! To top it off, the cool crisp days with low humidity are so refreshing after a hot humid summer.

When mountain biking, the cooler weather also means a much more comfortable experience. Don’t get me wrong, I like the warmth of Summer, but come September I’m ready for a cooldown. Also, there is no more need for bug spray.

End of Story Extra-Volume 3
This is a new feature in my articles. I will post an added bonus at the end of each article, separate from my usual 3 story links. It could be a photo, an extra paragraph, or something else. Stay tuned and keep reading.
Eleven Miles of Enjoyment
It was a great day for a ride and a preview of the changing leaves. Although they are just starting to turn here in central NY, I look forward to the upcoming weeks as the landscape slowly transforms into a masterpiece. I hope to get out for some rides once the leaves reach peak color.

Stay tuned for more updates.
End of Story Extra-Volume 3
Next week, my wife and are planning a trip to Canada to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This will be our second trip there this year. Stay tuned for more info.
