Fairy Tales
a poem, a story, an appreciation, for Amanda
It isn’t much A story, a tale, a yarn
Passed down Woven around
In kitchens and fields Adults passing time
Eventually shaped into Children’s nursery rhymes
Darkness a bit tamed Dragons slightly modified
Princesses a tad purified As innocent protectors of Good
When I said It isn’t much
I lied Stories are everything
Stories are all we are Fairy Tales are stories
That show us ways to grow How to fight and when to run
Who to listen to Who not to trust
Fairy Tales Are our universal
Navigational tools Through the woods
