Fairy Fire

Soft feet shuffle sleepily down the corridor in the flickering light a yawn issues forth puffing the flame just as the gust of breath caressed the flame it leapt to life The vision of chaos Glowing glittering green Unaware of the rules But not a bone in her mean Ephemeral and bounding on air The fire licked her heels And tossed her verdant hair The penetrating stare And lilting laugh that Sticks in the ear Like a jingle called Out by a Beauty Queen At a county fair For facial creams And beauty elixirs Both equally fabled Able to keep you fair She flit out the window Into the gem studded night Without a fear or care The lady, in her feeble despair Leapt frantically after On wings of jealousy She flew out to the rocky sea Her heavy spirit finally Lighter than air
