Fail At Being Disabled…..or Your Idea Worth Spreading

My December 2016 TED Talk How to Fail at Being Disabled (post date to come) was the inspiration for this blog, where “Fabled” is the mash up of Failing to be disABLED.
The talk was the culminating event of my 14-week TED Residency where I explored how the concepts of ability, talent and potential are differently applied to those perceived to be normal and those perceived to be “disabled.” Not only was the residency experience a terrific opportunity to uncover new learnings for my own project, but it allowed me to interact with other leaders, advocates and innovators in the fields of art, technology, fashion, global problem solving, conservation, film, health, homelessness and virtual reality. The influences of my unique fellow residents sharpened my perspective, broadened my thinking and clarified my approach.
TED is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2017 Residency Class. If you have an idea worth spreading, apply today (or by the deadline June 15.) Here’s the link!
