Teaching Code in a Human Relatable Way
I’m the author of “How I Went From Newbie to Interning at IBM, NASA, & Medium in 1 Year & How You Can, Too” and I write human readable code everyday of my life. However, I want to teach everyone how to code in a way the average person can understand and connect with.

Human readable is no longer good enough. It’s time to teach humans how to code in a more human relatable way. The ModernNerd wants to learn how to code life.
The modern nerd is no longer someone who wears glasses and suspenders and stays to himself all day. The modern nerd has friends. She excels in athletics and scholarly endeavors. ModernNerds are versatile individuals capable of learning anything including how to code. You are a ModernNerd.
So how do we teach you how to learn the skills you need to tackle the world? We need to adapt and take a new approach at educating. We need to relate better to the modern nerd. Show them how to code in a way that relates to them. Explain how their new knowledge can be used to change and influence the world in positive ways. Employ them to be contributing members to our society through advances in technological knowledge. This is just what the ModernNerd will do.
Learn to Code Life
Why
Because everyone who lives in this world is capable and, therefore, should be able to learn how to develop it.
What
ModernNerd will teach people that regardless of their background, they, too, can learn how to code.
How
ModernNerd will post Youtube video tutorials and human relatable explanations of programming concepts on our Youtube Channel. Subjects covered will include, but will not be limited to, Java, Android, and Web 2.0 languages. You can view our introduction animation here :). This will be fun and engaging.

Java for Humans Book
I am writing this book to teach anybody with the slightest bit of interest in computer science, software engineering, and programming/coding how to begin by learning Java, the most widely used and deployed programming language today.
However, Java for Humans won’t be like other coding books. My intention is to relate coding to human experiences to make it easier for beginners to learn and have a connection with.
Step by step, we will cover everything from variables, methods, classes and objects, to data structures and building real projects in Java.
In the end, I will give you a road map for further learning so you can continue to be the best programmer you can be by building projects, reading more books, and learning more languages to compliment your new knowledge of Java.
