How our expressions help us grow

Being able to express what is going on inside your mind to another human being is an intimate experience. You are showing areas of your conscious and subconscious to someone you trust.

Hopefully, that person recognizes that an important act is happening.

If the person is curious as to how your mind works, they will ask questions to better understand what they have been told.

When they ask questions that will show they value your willingness to expose your inner most thoughts and ideas. This connection that has now been established will add new layers to your relationship.

It will make them more aware that they are able to share their thoughts and ideas with you.

On the other hand, if your openness is rejected or criticized, you will not want to continue to share.

They have instilled doubt.

This doubt whispers “Why should I share or put myself out there when all I’m going to get is the closed mindedness of people?”

That is where the danger lies.

If you never share, then you will never truly find the right person that will help you to understand your place in the world.
