Exposure Introduces Medium Fiction Writer: Zoey Hale

“My favorite Fiction Genre to write about is realist fiction”

1. I am Medium Fiction Writer: Zoey Hale and I have a desire to begin writing fiction as it’s been an unrealized goal in the midst of my article and creative non-fiction writing.
2. I am currently interested in collaborating with other fiction writers within the realist, fantasy, and dystopian fiction genres.
3. I have been in love with fiction since my best friend’s mom gave me my first Nora Roberts book to read when I was a teenager. That was all it took to create a lifelong reader.
4. Before Medium, my fiction writing consisted of fits and starts, lots of notes, and countless journals.
5. I started writing on Medium because I wanted to write for others. I wanted the thrill of being read and enjoyed by readers and I wanted to help readers who may be going through similar situations to feel less alone.
6. My favorite Fiction Genre to write about is realist fiction.
7. One of the biggest challenges to my fiction writing since being on Medium is where to start, that is, where to house any fiction I create so that it reaches the audience looking for it.
8. I don’t currently have a fiction work-in-progress, however, I have ideas-in-progress which involve adaptation from my own life experiences.
9. The next big writing-related milestone I hope to achieve when it comes to my fiction writing is actually getting over my fear and beginning.
10. I would like to have more support from Fiction Readers for the following story idea:

STORY IDEA #1 — a Black woman dealing with the emotional and mental health issues she harbors as a result of being conceived through an act of violence and being raised in an entirely white family, and how those things inform the way she moves through life.
