365 Days in the Garden
Experiencing Art As a Writer
Three things I want to explore further about Van Gogh

Recently I went to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. I’ve been there twice this year, including in January, to see the Klimt exhibit. I hadn’t seen any Van Gogh that day, so I decided to go back.
Just like with the time I spent visiting two Klimt exhibits, I want to write about experiencing the art of Van Gogh and learning about the artist.
Here are three things I found interesting about the artist:
- Van Gogh was a prolific artist, completing nearly 900 oil paintings and more than a thousand sketches and drawings during his short life.
- He wanted to be known for his paintings of sunflowers.
- He was only 37 when he killed himself after a lifetime of mental illness.
I plan to write daily this year. One way I’m developing topics is through art. Here are two examples of my writing about Klimt.
