Everybody Wants To Be Healthy, Naturally
Here's how you can be at one with nature for the rest of your life

Some thirty five years ago I suddenly developed a duodenal ulcer. I do believe it was genetic, though I could be wrong. For certain, it was an ulcer that killed my maternal grandfather Thomas.
My local GP first put me on Gaviscon, until he took me off it due to concerns about it having, of all things, aluminium as an active ingredient. Indeed, I do remember very well indeed chewing on a strip of aluminium !
Then later he prescribed me Tagamet which was developed from Cimetidine. This was product was developed by Sir William Black. And although this was a revolutionary treatment at the time and highly effective in bringing relief, it was not without its drawbacks.
For a start there were concerns that it could cause cancer of the stomach. However my consultant at that time dismissed these concerns saying that the patient who had died from stomach cancer whilst taking the drug contracted his cancer from some other source.
For me the big drawback was the Tagamet only worked whilst I was on it. As soon as I came off it, the excruciating stomach pains returned. At one point it was so bad I was hospitalised for further investigations using endoscopy.
I came out of hospital, but frustratingly I still had terrible problems. And after what happened to my grandfather I was more than a little concerned. Quite frankly I was at my wits end with it. At its worst the stomach pains were insupportable.
Then, one day whilst visiting my consultant for a routine visit I stumbled across a remedy that was to rid me of the problem forever ! What was it ?

Well believe it nor not it was just your common or garden bio yogurt. I came across an article about it in a magazine in the hospital waiting room and thought “what the hell, I may as well give it a try and see if that helps.” I took up to four or five a day and within less than a month the problem was gone never to return.
Now this is not the first time I have had the good fortune to find a none prescribed solution to a debilitating physical ailment.

In 1976 I contracted Bell’s Palsy, a partial paralysis of the facial muscles. The whole of the right side of my face was completely frozen to the point that I slept with one eye open. I also couldn’t masticate my food on that side of my jaw.
As you can imagine I was struck dumb to hear my local doctor tell me that there was no known cure. Either it would go of its own free will or I would have it forever.
Help was at hand in the form of a friend who studied natural remedies. She consulted her very large encyclopaedia and came across a page that recommended Camomile tea. Did it work ? You bet it did.

Ever since those days I have been a firm believer in natural remedies and try to take foodstuffs that will head off at the pass of any potential future problems.

For example lotus plant roots and burdock roots, both freely available here in Japan, have a great many medicinal benefits for the intestinal and respiratory systems. And what's more they are delicious !

So far so good, I enjoy good health, more or less, and look forward to doing so for many more years to come, naturally.

So take a leaf out of my book and always try to look to nature for a remedy.
