Medium is full of publications, and the advice is often given that to be a top-earning writer it is important to get your articles into publications. One very popular and successful writer on Medium is Tim Denning. So where does he publish on Medium? And can you publish there too?

Entrepreneur’s Handbook

The title of this publication is fairly self-explanatory; they focus on actionable content for entrepreneurs! At the time of this writing, they have 1.4K followers. That means an article published here could end up in front of quite a few readers!

Interested in getting your writing published in Entrepreneur’s Handbook? They have a submission process that is transparent and easy to follow. Just fill out their Google form and wait to see if your article is approved. They only accept about 10% of submissions, but if you’re writing good content and you’ve checked it against their guidelines, I believe in you! Learn more here.

Start it up (The Startup)

Start it up currently has 756K followers, and counts 8 million of those as monthly readers. They have been known as The Startup for the past seven years but recently rebranded. They are looking for articles that “help today’s creators get smarter at building their thing.” Interested in submitting your own work? Anyone can submit, so give it a shot!

Mind Café

This publication is all about living a happier life. Who isn’t down for that?! It’s not clear how many followers the publication has, but there are currently 3.7K claps on the article from 2019 that explains who they are and what their purpose is. Anyone is welcome to submit, and they offer a full set of guidelines to help you write something with the best chance of publication on their website. To submit, use the form embedded on their site; read carefully so you don’t miss the form!

Better Humans

I couldn’t find a number of followers, but Better Humans is one of the top publications on the platform. They are looking for self-improvement advice (you, know, the kind of thing that can make someone a better human!). They place a strong emphasis on personal experience. They are also creating space for writers who come from underrepresented backgrounds. Want to shoot your shot at this publication? Check out their instructions.

The Writing Cooperative

Active since 2014, today The Writing Cooperative has 238K followers. They are one of the first publications I started to follow when I joined the platform. They publish articles that offer advice, support, and encouragement for writers, across any genre. It’s not difficult to submit work to them, and it will be reviewed within 10 days. Review their style guide and send something over this month!

Better Marketing

This publication’s title is fairly self-explanatory. Articles in Better Marketing are meant to help marketers do their work well, and can include case studies, career advice, tutorials, industry news, or inspirational pieces. They currently have 115K followers. Submitting is easy, though getting in might be challenging. They receive over 1,000 submissions a month. But nothing ventured, nothing gained, so get that draft finished and send it over.

DataDrivenInvestor

DataDrivenInvestor, or DDI for short, focuses on “investible insights.” Their stories are predominantly content related to finances and technology. I couldn’t find a follower count, but they certainly have a lot of content!

ILLUMINATION

I saved the best for last. Tim Denning also writes for this very publication, ILLUMINATION! There are an estimated 80K readers of ILLUMINATION and its sister publication, ILLUMINATION-Curated. As of January 2021, it was the 87th largest publication on Medium. Topics covered include a wide range of niches including Business, Science, Philosophy, Relationships, and Politics.
