Summary

The author reflects on how personal energy influences the types of people we encounter, using a personal experience with a challenging manager to illustrate the law of attraction.

Abstract

The article discusses the concept that every person we meet is a reflection of our own energy, suggesting that our interactions are a manifestation of what we project into the universe. The author shares a personal story of moving abroad, facing professional challenges, and working under a difficult manager, which mirrored her internal feelings of loneliness, isolation, and self-doubt. Through this experience, she learned that the energy we put out is what we attract, and thus, we have the power to bring positive, supportive people into our lives by adjusting our own vibrational energy. The piece encourages readers to introspect and take responsibility for their encounters, emphasizing that our external circumstances reflect our inner world and that attracting a desirable "tribe" starts with an internal shift.

A Lesson On Watching Your Vibrational Energy

Some people come into our lives and stay along time, while others are just briefly passing by. Regardless of their length of stay, the reason we encounter someone is always because of our own personal energy.

We’re always attracting that which we’re putting out there. It could be the friendly cashier at the grocery store, or the grumpy new client who’s calling you on the phone.

Most of the time, we’re not even aware of the energy we are putting out into the Universe. We’re just living our lives, reacting to outside circumstances.

But our outside circumstances are a reflection of our inner world.

I’ll give you an example:

In 2007 I moved from Canada to the UK, to be with my then-boyfriend (now husband). While I was happy to be with him full time, it was a massive change for me. I’d left my family, friends and country. In the beginning, it was a lonely time for me. There were times when I felt disconnected and questioned my decision.

It took me a few months to find a full-time job, which I found this quite frustrating and I started to lose my confidence, professionally.

When I did get a full time job, it was for a manager I knew I wasn’t going to like. But the offer was too good to pass up. That’s what I told myself at the time. But that little voice in my head said “You will NOT like working for this guy”

I ignored it, and signed the contract.

In a nutshell, it was the worst year of my professional life. My manager never had my back, blamed his mistakes on me (and others too), made me feel isolated, and always questioned my decisions. Even when I was right.

When I look back at that time, I can see that this manager reflected the feelings I had internally.

Felt lonely ✅

Felt isolated ✅

Felt like I’d made poor decisions ✅

Felt a loss of confidence ✅

I can see now how I attracted this very specific manager. When you’re in the middle of it though, it’s very hard to tell.

I take full responsibility for attracting that manager (at the time I didn’t) because now I know the law of attraction was working behind the scenes.

I encountered the exact person to match my vibrations.

Next time you attract someone who makes you unhappy, take a look at what thoughts and feelings have been running through your head.

Take a look at the people in your life. Are they the kind of people who make you happy, or miserable?

Your tribe is your vibe and you have the power to attract wonderful, kind, funny and generous people into your life.

It’s an inside job first, though.
