Evernote and Our Minds: How It Works
Focus on what matters in your life.

Human minds are marvels of nature, our most fantastic tools.
The myriad of constantly humming thoughts, memories, data, and creative intuitions put any computer to shame. And let’s imagine that we have access to all this power at any time!
Therefore, you must learn to free your mind to make the most of this powerful tool.
Of course, “access” and “control” are different. We’ve all experienced that finding what we’re looking for in our heads is a frustrating exercise because of mental confusion.
A cluttered mind is different from a messy desk or disorganized filing cabinet. This makes it difficult to remember what you need when you need it and can hinder productivity.
Clearing the mind can bring all kinds of benefits.
You will be able to process your thoughts and emotions more clearly and spread accumulated negativity more quickly.
And this cleaning is easier than you think!

Your Brain Should Think, Not Remember.
Brain power is a powerful but somewhat limited resource. Like muscle overload, overloading your brain can cause fatigue and make even simple tasks difficult.
There are times when we are overwhelmed with too much information.
The solution is to find ways to work smarter.
Instead of remembering unnecessary facts — which wastes time and energy collecting large amounts of filtering data — you need to make connections between them.
Your brain is not about storing data but analyzing information and connecting the relevant dots. Evernote is one of the few apps and tools that helps us think and act the way our brain thinks.
Learn To Say NO.
One of the best lessons about time management is to say ‘no’ when you’re busy.
Take a weekend break instead of working late, or prioritize family game night over a side project that feels overwhelming.
Slowing down and opening a calendar reduces stress and can help you balance responsibilities better.
Choosing your priorities is the key to saying no — knowing what can and cannot be moved or rejected. Use tasks in Evernote to prioritize items on your busy routes and provide context for each activity. As an added convenience, you can also set reminders for tasks and notes.
According to HBR, You can’t say yes to everyone and everything and do all of it well.
Declutter Your Mind — it’s simple.
Knowing when your mind is overloaded is the first step toward clearing it.
We are constantly bombarded with data from the internet, social media, news, friends and acquaintances, and our thoughts. This can make it difficult to focus on tasks or relax at the end of the day.
A “brain dump,” or trying to clear your mind of unnecessary thoughts, is a great way to deal with such buildup.
You can get rid of the trivial information that swirls in your head and reduce the number of things you have to think about at any given time by writing it all down and putting it in an organized manner.
There is no shortage of productivity apps that may support adopting the techniques above.
The list is endless, from Notion to Apple Notes to Obsidian to OneNote to Google Keep.
My favorite, however, has always been Evernote.
How come?
I find it to be productive and essential to my workflow.
