I decided I would take some time to be still, to send out joy and love to all of those hurting and come back later on in the day when I had something to give. I love to support people and bring them light and joy whenever I can. This method of stopping and waiting really helped me. When I came back, I was able to write a post thanking those that I had calls with this week, point out all of the wonderful things they were doing and engage with posts on a heartfelt, soulful level. This felt right to me and I left my short session on social media feeling lighter. I have also started putting my phone away in the evenings, before I start making dinner. This allows me to spend a joyful, quiet evening with my family and fully focus my energy there. I have learned that when an activity starts to not feel good, I need to stop, take a break and come back later. Only then can I be fully of service to others.</p><p id="545f">I have learned to listen to my body’s and heart’s signals every day. In my human design, as a generator, my chart shows me that my connections are largely to my body. It is a major signal to me when I fully feel that I cannot do something that day. It is a “full no” from my body to stop and pay attention. I did pay attention. I know that when I forge ahead because I think I “should” do something against the signals, I end up feeling run down, tired and not as vibrant, joyful and healthy as I usually am. e to say no to something?</p><p id="08a5">Here are 3 ways I suggest that we all try to tune in to our bodies and hearts at this time to escape the noise so that we can be of better service to ourselves and our neighbors.</p><ol><li>Tune in each day through meditation and exercise. How are you feeling in your body? When you start to do an activity is there a signal of dread? Stop and notice. Is your body telling you to stop, to stay quiet? To get still? To do something else?</li><li>Take as much time off of social media as you need. Check in with yourself before going on to a social media site. Why are you there? Are you contributing to a group? Are you providing support, solace or care to others? Do you feel there is too much noise for you to handle there?</li><li>Take a social media “sabbath” I usually do this one day a week, usually on Sundays. However, I caught myself posting something, then responding to the comments, then going down a social media rabbit hole! Remember to be kind to yourself. I, like everyone else misses the connection of in-person meetings. So, I can find myself going on social media for the connection. However, I believe that if we can at least have a 1–2 day sabbath from social media it will help us clear our minds and hearts to be fully in the present which is what these times are trying so desperately to do. I promise that I will report back and take a full 1–2 days off social media this week. Escaping the Noise: 3 Ways You can Take Breaks from the Media

With the global shift that is taking place right now, I find it so important, now more than ever to escape the noise. The noise I am referring to here is not noise as in a lawnmower outside, it is the noise of the news, social media and negativity. I am fully aware that we are in a crisis, that we all must come together to help each other get through this; however I feel it is important to find the stillness, find the quiet and find the peace in our days. The noise of paying attention to too much media can be too much for me on any given day, but now, more than ever, especially this week, I feel it in my heart I need to step away. As an empath I take on other people’s energy quite quickly, so I have begun to notice now how much time I can spend on the news or social media. That time is getting shorter and shorter now.

These days I have shifted my daily routine. I have for a long time had a daily practice of meditation and exercise before getting ready for the rest of my day. Those are still my pillars that anchor me in a peaceful way to the rest of the day. My other big pillar is writing. This has become my rock, my solace and something that brings me fortitude and a way to share with others. My hope is to bring peace, joy and comfort to others during this time. I do this in a quiet way, this is my way of helping. Writing helps me process things on a daily basis without the noise.
