Escape
A haiku & a chat
Open the car door, turn the key, radio on… the wide road beckons.
There are times when it seems like reality is a bit too much to handle. When the bad news or bad events or bad people pile up in your life, and you just want to get in your car and go. Doesn’t matter where, but getting away is the only thing that you need in order to get your heart to reset to “okay.”
This poem summarizes how I’m feeling right now — I just want to run as far and as fast as I can. I know it won’t make the problems disappear, but the feel of escape is tempting.
Anyone else ever feel like this?
The only problem, of course, is that problems can’t be overcome by leaving. They will just follow you wherever you go. But the temptation is always there, of course… beckoning.
