Entreaty

Gossip has been likened
To murder, stated cold as truth.
What can a deceased girl say
To convince you otherwise?
One who has been stabbed in the back,
With unholy curse, goes against law
Of both religion and country,
Can she find another
Whose identity is but a masquerade,
Through whom she can hold forth
In hidden guise, yet plain?
Would you believe the tale when wrought iron
Encloses her soul, darkened by
Hatred hidden behind stated love,
Badly and yet held true by all others, fools?
She cannot defend nor defeat
Though defeat of hatred,
So cleverly rused is as impossible
as victory won from
A gargoyle of stone disguised,
by angels tears.
