Enlightenment: Who Would Have Thought We’d Get Here

Enlightenment, or bodhi, has been regarded as the Grand Prix of human experience for those on a spiritual or religious path. It’s the perfect embodiment of transcending the human, ego-driven vehicle. Discord has equalized into sweet harmony with all; the beauty of the inner has actualized into the outer. It’s no wonder why depictions of beings who have reached this stage in their soul’s journey are often half-lidded smiling stoics sitting under a tree, forevermore rid of the archontic confines of suffering or duhkka.

Wherever he goes, the Enlightened One’s tranquility draws the attention of small furry woodland creatures scurrying around him,basking in his gentle light. Brightly colored butterflies land on him constantly and surrounding his crown chakra is an ethereal golden aura.

The air around him is still, but serene and the sound of nature buzzes gently in the background. If you’re lucky to meet with these people, there is the distinct feeling of being spotted, not seen. This is because the God in them sees the God in you, illuminating that forgotten fragment of your original self.

There is a cognitive dissonance that follows when one realized the Enlightened one eventually must rise from that seated pose to allow his legs to carry him elsewhere.Not to the skies of Nirvana or heaven, but to continue his human experience. They are still of the flesh, after all.They only choose to end the game of tag that is samsara — not the coveted joy of being human.

Free to fully step into the expansiveness within them, they wonder what could possibly come next?

We all have had moments of Enlightenment; you can feel them in those divine sparks of remembrance calling you back to your true nature. In my personal experience, ego dissolution has helped me reach a sense of what I perceive to be enlightenment. The chaos with my ego arose due to the schism between the societal indoctrination we all face and not knowing my true identity. I simply wanted to become a sovereign entity free of any selfish metrics assigned to me. I couldn’t have imagined the trickle effect that would lead to inner peace it would gift me.

I reached enlightenment when I made conscious decision to shine a blue light on the ‘i’ self and ‘I’ of expanded self-awareness and then merged them with my physical and mental realities.

Remember: we are spiritual beings having a human experience. This is how we can achieve Enlightenment.
