Where would you be if you could be anywhere in the world?
Taking things for granted becomes easy when you are used to something.
Growing up in Jamaica, I was less aware of the treasures my beautiful Island offers. It wasn't until I immigrated and would travel back for yearly visits or vacations and even had strangers fascinated by my accent tell me about my country that I started to appreciate better the treasures with which I grew up.
Blue skies, sunny days, and beautiful turquoise beaches lined with pristine white sand are some of the wonders and treasures to be experienced in my backyard.
A few nights ago, I stopped and listened. Contrasted with the night's otherwise stillness, I could only hear the sound of waves.
Ah, the pure bliss of waves crashing against each other made my heart smile.
I went on the balcony, and the below pic was what I captured: the moon, resplendent in its beauty.
The next day, we strolled to the beach. The boys attempted a version of sand digging, only for the tide to come in and fill their neatly dug holes with water.
I consider it a privilege to have my children experience the natural wonders of living life up close and personal with nature.
Taking them to the beach, building sand castles, or attempting the same gives me that personal satisfaction that these are what childhood happy moments and memories include.
Looking out as far as my eyes could see and seeing only the Sea, I paused, reflected, and took it all in. Jamaica is the land of my birth, and these beautiful treasures are mine to enjoy.
Every year, millions of tourists visit Jamaica.
Even after the tourism sector took a hard hit over the last two years, visitor numbers are still high, exceeding that of previous years.
