I have many friends who love to come home. Of late everyone says they are looking after their bodies and want to eat healthy food.

What are people looking for?

They want something filling, yet not heavy on the stomach, nutritious and tasty.

One evening my friends decided to come over for a cup of coffee and their special request was that I cook for them a homemade snack so they did not have to go back home and cook or eat dinner after it.

There was another challenge and that was that they did not want variety but just one snack which was filling and tasty.

“What do you want to eat?” I said!

They all said anything with less oil.

Some of my friends are always dieting. They requested that it should not be heavy.

“Alright, I made a snack the other day in the evening. I will make it for you and hopefully, you will like it too”. I said

Without another minute’s delay, I decided on a snack that would be ready soon and you could steam it. No need to fry it so no oil required at all.

The dish I planned is called stuffed Idli

Method of cooking Stuffed Idlis

Step 1-Just pick up a cup of semolina mix it with half a cup of water and let it stay on.

Step 2-After 15 minutes add curd and mix it.

Step 3 -Boil some potatoes and make them spicy with whichever spice you like.

Mix - put some coriander leaves and cut them finely. You can add green chilies or chili flakes too. Whatever you want of course with salt to taste.

Step 4: So when you look below I have these molds in which I first put the batter and in the middle, I stuffed them with potatoes.

Step 5: Now on top of this, I put more batter and I will show you the picture below to show you how it looks.

so we have stuffed the Idli and on top, we have added more batter. The potatoes have gone in.

I steamed the idlis for another 5–7 minutes.

I could see that the batter had dried up.

I opened the pan took out the idlis and cut them.

You can see in the top picture how beautiful they look.

The snack is attractive, wholesome, and tasty.

we sat together and enjoyed our coffee with the stuffed Idlis.

What was the result?

Everyone was happy! while chatting we all ate more than we had thought we would have. Laughter and happiness make things even more enjoyable.

All my friends took the recipe from me and have served this dish to more friends and now it is a popular dish with us all.

So if you want to make things in a jiffy try Stuffed Idlis.
